I agree. I don't think it's so much the critics. I think it's the fact that it's a crap film. The critics are a symptom of the drop off, not the cause. If it weren't a shit film, the drop would have been less and the reviews would have been better, but both the latter two spawn from the first.

I would guess 1. Nobody would expect/project that, especially not a studio that is banking on a film being huge. All of these fake "records" do annoy me as well. Call me when you break $250 million domestic on three days.
