I treat them as entirely unrelated movies that happen to star Bruce Willis. The last time I saw John McClane, he was chilling in Quebec with Zeus Carver after adding another Gruber pelt to his wall.

I don't think these series are going to be part of the MCU, but the fact that the two groups are collaborating is a big step towards maybe something like the Fantastic Four popping up in the MCU or something.
