You just explained it yourself. Absurd valuations favor Wall Street, who also partners with companies to go public. It is in their interest that these companies are valued high.

Just proof that I have no idea how valuation works. How in the hell is Tesla, who operates on a fraction of the scale of GM/Toyota/etc, worth more?

GMC says there will be a “Spin” button, but void the warranty for anyone who uses it - just a little something out of the “manufacturers who offer launch control” playbook.

Good lord. As someone who work at a large OEM, just reading the words, “unintended acceleration” has got me sweating. Thanks, Mr.Ballaban.

I’d rather be stuffed in a 90s airport smoking room than even be gifted a Fiskar. What a terrible car - give it another 10 years and these will be epic IOE-contenders at a Lemons race.

I think a 718S will be my next car in a few years - the base model is already in the low $40k range. No, I don’t care about the 4cyl sound when its apparently better than the 981 in every way.

The cheapest used 981 GT4s are down to MSRP-ish prices, what a bargain /s.

Midgets

This decade will define the future of electric cars and the most exciting automotive revolution since the Model T.

Tom FTW. Xterra’s are capable vehicles and will give you everything you want, except for maybe the fast part.

I like to scrape a porthole in the windshield, then let the snow fall off while driving. It comes off in huge slabs as it melts from the car heating up. Boom, done!

Dang, guess I can’t leave my desk for another few minutes. Got a little “local swelling”.

I’ll never understand why dealers pull that stuff. It must work though, because they’re still doing it...even though those purchase agreements before the test drive are hardly binding contracts.

You’ve got to hand it to them, Hyundai has come a long way. Not that long ago, they had to offer the 10 year/100k warranty just to get people interested in the brand. Now it seems that the newer ones are just as reliable as the established import manufacturers.

4th gear. This doesn’t add up.

It’s a prototype, so guessing those screens are for data monitoring/collection and won’t be in the production model.

Insurance doesn’t pay for cost of replacement. They will do their own value calculation through some proprietary pricing model, then try to dick you as hard as they can. You can appeal their value by compiling similar vehicle pricing in your area, but most people don’t know that. Sometimes it works.

Sadly, insane FAA certification costs will keep this uneconomical for awhile...which is why most GA aircraft fly with what is essentially 1950's engine technology.

It’s exciting to see the progress and development of new technology on these cars, then crushing when you realize that 99.9& of them will just sit in some collectors garage.
