Does uhh...anyone think that cars would get cheaper if Trump had his way? The automakers would leave out the pricey emissions parts and keep the cars the same price, pocking the easiest profit increase ever!

1st Gear: Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. On the other hand, pretty sure this is what UAW wants. Force the city/state into giving them what they want in exchange for not doing any further damage (for now).
There is a 2 week program where I work that takes anyone whose interested and puts them on the plant floor. Week 1 is training, familiarization, and fitness. Week 2 they are mostly doing the work themselves under the watch of someone more experienced.
Auto line workers are more skilled than you think, just maybe not in the physical assembly sense. Anyone who has been around a little while should know how to run a line, correctly identify issues, train new people, find process efficiency improvements, etc. They’re also paid enough to be able to afford a move if they…
UAW only works for their members when it is in their interest to do so. GM will obviously continue to do what they think is best for them in terms of short term stock price.
I got to drive a pre-production model a few years ago. It was so quiet at highway speeds and very easy to cruise well above the speed limit without realizing it. Beautiful car, but your options really open up if you’re shopping in the 75-100k range. Think I saw a few used in the 70k range.
mmmm, 4 door Veloster N. Now we’re talking.
“If you want less unsprung weight, you can opt for a set of 19" Carbon Revolution wheels for an impressive 12,000 pounds, or about $14,595. The wheels add up to a total loss of 17.6 pounds, or $829 per pound lost.”
A 2015 Nissan Rouge taken from Vegas to Mammoth and Tahoe. The CVT was just horrible in the snow. The all season tires had good tread, but were outright garbage when paired with the shitty transmission. We got stuck at a flat intersection that was lightly covered in packed snow.
Golf R with a tune! 355hp w/DSG will blow your old Infiniti away.
I think the most potential for weight savings on Corvettes come from the owners themselves.
What happened to the plan of producing more affordable models for younger people without the cash to get hooked on the brand? Then, a few years later, sell them a car they DO make all the money on.
Of course they want you to turn it in to them. Sounds like a 4th of July bonus for our boys in blue. At least make them run tags and track people down for their bonus.
Wonder what group of dealerships is behind this one. Guess its time to finally kick California out of the US.
Umm....the only way CarPlay works is having your phone plugged in...which charges it.
In other words, “Uber, a corporation, tries to be profitable”. This shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. They have been burning money for a long time now.
I’d say take that $3500 and put it in a high yield savings account. That will cover 99% of repairs. Even if he drives exactly 10k miles per year, that’s still $145/mo to ease his mind. This also won’t cover wear items like, you know, almost everything. Brakes/tires/suspension/motor mounts/etc.
So what you’re saying is, in 3-4 years, you could pick up one of these used for under 50k. What a time to be alive!
Why is it that American OEM’s always rush to eliminate their most valuable assets in order to be profitable?
The people buying replicas aren’t in the market to buy the real thing. Plus, it’s not like Ferrari is making any money off the real ones, besides parts maybe?
