Wait, so we’re already down to 3 brands making entry level sports cars, Mazda, Toyota, Subaru (honda and nissan are gone as are all the domestics), and now we’re down to 2 brands Just Mazda and ToyoBaru, and we want to go to just 1 brand? I sort of like competition and different approaches, or what’s the word, oh…
A slightly bigger Miata with more power is called a used Porsche Boxster
well, a ford transit in cargo starts at $48k and the same van in passenger spec starts at $57k, if this started at $65k that’s a big ask. They were probably using the F150 pricing scheme that they can sell the same truck at $45k and at $75k but pickup buyers and van buyers are not the same. It was already priced high…
yeah...the crosstrek is a thing
it’s true. Inflation of 1-3% like an electric bill or airplane ticket (or flat or negative such as with electronics) is usual, but so many things have gone up 100%-300% that are recurring. Things like health insurance or car insurance etc. Those aren’t one and done those are forever. Groceries didn’t go up 1-3% they…
I hear what he says on ‘reasonable’ in that in 1998 a base passport was $23k and this base is $46k. That’s 100% increase.
some decisions aren’t always down to a spec sheet. Sometimes it’s ergonomics, or comfort, or the way some things feel or operate. Brand loyalty is a thing too, but there is lots of nuance in the details that can make a car feel cheap or well made etc.
if you’re used to driving a regular car with gear shifters and instrument panels and door handles etc, then driving a tesla is different and it’s basically like having never driven a car before : )
I hear you, but look at the next post, a base honda passport they are asking almost $50k for. So $16k for a working machine relative to the other is reasonable. I think both are high but what do I know.
wish they would replace that ford ecosport with a focus active X instead...
they had a sale until I saw that interior missing basic controls like a volume knob or AC temp dial. In the words of Bob Marley: no button no buy.
yeah, the van is already priced higher than every other van. That they want to charge for the wrap is totally understandable and the wrap itself can even be marked up a bit for the convenience. But random ‘market adjustment’ baloney? Ruh-Roh
hence the rise of all the shades of grey, looks clean longer lol
also, people who don’t take care of their stuff isn’t always lazyness, but can actually be a sign of a mental health disorder. Like you said, even people who are super duper busy can take the time to be presentable or manage their life/houes/car, and being an adult and ‘doing the things’ helps fight against those…
Why no Hachi-Roku?? :)
I was super impressed at the fit/finish/equipment level for the Escape which used to be awful (non hybrid base engine). If they can bring that level at a lifted focus at focus pricing I’d seriously shop it (as long as it has buttons on the interior which the Escape did not).
I thought they were ‘tough on crime’ ...oh wait
laws for thee and not for me?
