it would cost more to change than to keep iterating. Ask Mazda how that Rotary is coming along...
I thought Subaru doesn’t do Markups?
Is it pronounced “Gun-thurr-Works” or “Goontuh-Vuhhk” ?
I understand the materials argument; however price of materials isn’t related to price of the car. Manufacturers pay as little as possible to build a car and charge as much as the market allows. This is why the same car is priced wildly differently in different markets and also why they shift around production…
I look at computers and electronics like cell phones and TV’s and they have all gotten cheaper year over year, or held price steady with big improvements in features/capability. Unless a car is a new model with a new platform, no reason the car should go up in price year over year, the machinery and plant is paid for…
All true, but I think you’re mixing up the head unit and the amp/speakers. No need to change the electronics in the car, just the speakers and the amp that powers them. Same touch screen, same HD radio, or satellite radio or carplay, same dash, etc.. The car doesn’t know the speakers were changed and nothing is…
Smart on the tint thing. I try to avoid factory radio upgrades for the same reason, I can get better for cheaper aftermarket etc. And yes there are some trims that have a smaller bump for extra features and as we see in the news more manufactures are trying this idea now selling more variations of a theme.
I rented a ‘base’ Ford Escape (called ‘active’ in Ford speak) to drive across a few states recently in a snowstorm. MSRP $28k. It literally had everything a person needs and even extra (AWD for example).
but that asks people to ... back into spots...let the hilarity commence
yeah - I had a good chuckle at the article saying VW has a trim that saves a whopping $600 over the other model. On their $32,000 vehicle.
that debris from a spacex ship GIF is really a scene from Transformers...
that’s what it should be. They don’t have to share platforms just use the name as marketing to represent the hierarchy. The BMW 2 series sedan and coupe are 2 completely different vehicles but share a name for example so it’s been done before.
love that this is an option, wish a 328i version was also available...
have I seen this post before? maybe it’s just...deja vu
yes - it can
these comments are for the birds...

what tires are on the bike that lasted the drive?
