You know they’ll just get another Subaru.

I find the Miata very uncomfortable and cramped. Just give me a bigger turbo manual Miata (Even Hybrid to meet emissions targets) please I will buy one new!

Based on my experience with Android Auto, Google isn’t spending for top UI designers. For one thing, they keep changing things - sometimes on a weekly basis. Android Auto is supposed to make it easier, not have me learn how to do things every week.

You’re forgetting that these will mostly go on poseurmobiles so the driver can look cool with their extreme downforce aero kit and kidney-mashing suspension while driving back and forth to the office.   These are the same people who buy M3Comps because they are the most expensive 3 series model on the market and not

Call me idiot or poor, I don’t care

They may have alternated in-office days so that situations like this didn’t occur.

Also brand loyalists, and with the latest 4Runner update, those that want an old school v6 over a turbo 4.

Not that either is inherently better than the other (Toyota v Honda, 6 v 4), but personal preferences go a long way.  I would expect the ride quality the Passport to be far better than a 4Runner though.

parts and know-how may be limited compared to other models

It’s a bummer that $50k is now ‘reasonable’”

It’s a bummer that $50k is now ‘reasonable’ for a trim like the Trailsport.  At least it has heated seats / steering wheel at that level, and the tow package is only a $220 add.  I’m betting they don’t add an additional trans cooler.

Another hot take: black cars look the worst when they are even a little bit dirty, but look fucking amazing right after being washed and detailed.

Nah. I don’t mind a muddy or dusty look after a trip off-road (my 80 is at work in the parking lot right now covered from a weekend thing) but it doesn’t really look better. It just has a look.  I much prefer it clean, but I don’t mind it dirty either.  As far as winter dirty? No. No car looks better covered in road

All of them guilty: Driving too fast for conditions.

Like it was foggy, but also at least in that video you had enough forward visibility to SEE the pile up and at least get on the brakes to slow down, seemingly NONE of those drivers looked like they slowed down a bit even when close enough to see.

The people getting out of their cars and walking in between the piled up wrecks are giving me anxiety. What the fuck are you doing? You are volunteering as a meat bag bowling pin at that point.

Your friends ain’t lying to you. All of these are good practices to follow when driving on wet roads.

I have a few that I would love if they came back:

Yes on Ford Focus, specifically Ford Focus Active. Make it Hybrid, give it an AWD option. Right now there is no hatchback alternative to the Crosstrek (competitors are mostly boxy crossovers) and people gobble them up

How about a small minivan?
