That’s just a dumb comparison. It’s more like this- If you ordered your 1990 Dodge Caravan without power windows or a radio, they charged you significantly less, because they didn’t pay for parts and labor on parts that the factory never installed on your car in the first place. Only Porsche buyers are big enough

If VW took a GTI Sport that retails for $30k, stripped out the radio and interior door handles to shave 11lbs, then charged $36k for the resulting car, would you defend it?

But Porsche isn’t taking parts off a completed car (more labor), they’re building it without those parts (less labor).

They don’t build the car, then remove stuff. They simply don’t install it save part of the build. That costs Porsche nothing, and should cost the customer nothing, if not save some money.

You could juice cleanse that kind of weight in a week.

11 pounds is not what I would consider actually serious approach to weight-savings, ever.

Excuse: Only an idiot would pay $12k extra for a decontented car that weighs 11, let me spell that out- ELEVEN pounds less than the fully-contented version. That’s just idiotic, and this car is proof that Porsche customers are easily tricked into ridiculous schemes.

Right? This thing is more about posing as a lightweight version than actually being one. Just remove the floor mats and owner’s manual from your regular Carrera, and you’re already lighter than the T. It’s a really dumb model, but you know the saying about fools and their money.

Wait, what? You do realize that Scirroco sales dried up to next to nothing, which is why VW discontinued the model? Not to mention, the MQB Golf is light years ahead of the PQ35 platform of the Scirroco.

When I look at my GTI Sport, I see a conservative body with some subtle sporty details. Then, I notice the giant brakes. That’s what looks fast to me, rather than a bunch of fake vents and a useless giant wing from the 1990's.

This is why I stick with VW.

Up until a month ago, I would have said “perfect”, but an unfortunate incident occurred. One of the drains for my panoramic sunroof got blocked, and water intruded the car and got behind the dash. My dealership put me in an Alltrak while they restore the Sportwagen. VW has offered a pretty generous goodwill to put

Fuck yes.

Every last one of these is way cooler than a goddamned phone.

Ventiports.

LT1 Roadmaster, supercharged Riviera, Park Avenue Ultra, etc. Actually knowing about good cars is much harder than repeating tired old tropes.

Oh, yes. NP.

It’s probably a fair ask for the car. That said, you can get way better cars with fewer miles for the money. CP.

Correct.

I don’t even want to hate it. Kia has evolved the Soul into a good, fun, cool car.
