This is America, where we don’t value human life. People don’t care if innocent people are endangered or killed, so long as they get theirs.

This is a great point, but what makes me angrier even than this is when prosecuting attorneys are complicit or withhold evidence. I feel like in cases where there there is willful withholding of evidence or prosecutorial misconduct, they should be made to take the place of the exonerated person in prison.

Chicago cops buy real guns to plant on suspects to justify shootings, arrest persons they want to arrest, etc. So, this is hardly surprising.

But it was the revelation that the supervisor of the unit instructed officers to carry a toy gun just in case they found themselves “in a jam” and needed to plant one.

Sorry to fogey out, but this aspect of it being frictionlessly easy for people to have a public face and be exposed/expose themselves to the judgment and censure of millions when they have little life or work experience is one of the things I find problematic about the latter-day internet.

Seriously, even an elevator door wont close with a hand there. A sensor is essential, it either means the car parked there is about to be crushed or a person is going to be killed. There should’ve been a system that makes sure that if anything is in the path of the mechanism, it should stop. I blame everyone but I assign the majority of it on the manufacturer because my $100 garage door opener has sensors to make sure I don’t crush my dog or bag of groceries.
