It was supposed to be a simple repair. In and out, 20 minutes.
Ha ha.
At least he got there eventually I guess, which is more than can be said for most people.
I don’t need another reason to love libraries, but this is definitely added to the list. Now for anyone who needs some library porn... (as in beautiful libraries, not porn filmed in those libraries!)
Gamers:. “Git gud scrub.”
i don’t know anything about this game, community, or player, but reading this makes me want to attend every tournament near me to cheer for this guy. fucking loud.
It shouldn’t have to be said - Barrios doesn’t deserve to be treated like shit for playing well.
what a strange, stupid species we are. Imagine how sad and empty your life must be to care about something so trivial that you actually threaten someone’s life over it.
“but he camped and won and that’s cheap!” grow up. It’s a fucking game. Go get a real problem
Very dangerous behavior by the driver of that truck. If the car waiting for their signal to change had pulled off as soon as they saw a green light then they would probably be dead or catastrophically injured.
It might seem like splitting hairs, but using “taxpayer money” instead of “public money” is a dog whistle; it furthers the narrative that whoever pays more in taxes “deserves” a bigger voice in government, when one’s income has much more to do with the environment one was born into.
This is hands-down the scariest story so far this year.
Ok, here goes. Writing this out makes me want to barf.
This is a little more creepy/disturbing than scary, but it’s something that still gives me chills when I think about it (and I try not to think about it very often). Note: All names have been changed.

This happened to me about ten years ago while I was attending college at West Virginia University. At the time, I was really into backcountry camping, which for reasons that will become obvious, I am not into anymore. One of the benefits (actually probably the only benefit) of attending college in West Virginia was…
My childhood home was in a small town in Indiana. It was a beautiful blue Dutch Colonial home in a neighborhood lined with huge old pine trees. Our house had been built in the 1800s and I always had a sense that it was haunted. The neighborhood was filled with kids my age and all the families got together for summer…
I have no personal stories to contribute unfortunately. :( But lately I’ve been getting my scary story fix by listening to scary podcasts. My current favorites are Lore and Lets Not Meet. Anyone else have a horror podcast they would recommend?
Do you remember the story about how the kid was writing a paper with headphones on and there was writing all over the house that said “LOOK AT ME”? It still haunts me and that was I think like 3 years ago.
I’ve still not heard anything that is even remotely as scary as the “Look at Me” one, but every year I look forward to you wonderful commenters trying to best it.
