I had a guy on Facebook compare Brie Larson saying a film she made wasnt intended for a particular audience to Hitler writing Mein Kampf. This is how deranged these people are. And he called me childish for mocking him.

Now playing

Alita on the other hand is an original work

Yep, she’s bi. Tessa Thompson and Taika Waititi even tried to work in a scene that alluded to the fact, but it ended up being cut:

The LGBT+ community of comic fans?

Great, then you won’t care either way. But plenty of people do.

I don’t give a fuck if the world is ready or not. Gay superheroes are here. They’re queer. Get over it and give us our representation. You saw how the world responded to Black Panther. Just do that but with all gays. Maybe there’s a secret island full of bearded gay beefy muscle dudes that’s never been colonized by a

I don’t think it really matters if the world is ready. Just fucking do it.

Valkyrie is gay but it just hasn’t been explicitly said on screen yet, right?

god i love this book.

I think that comment would have been better delivered by Senor Spielbergo.

I don’t know of many books that could be harder to adapt. There are paragraphs that can cover decades of story and even individual sentences can detail months of character and relationship development. The beauty of the writing is very much tied to how Garcia Marquez plays with time. It’s such a dense prose, I’m not

Checkmate, Speilberg

I was deeply traumatized by the plot turn in the middle of the movie, and not in a fun way. In a really, really upsetting way. It took me most of the movie to recover from it.

I have read many articles by you Gita and you have never seemed angry or trying to bait any one, I hope you keep writing about race and gender. I look forward to your next article, this was a very good read.

Your pieces always give me something to think about and I agree that it’s important to both:

I actually think the difference would be there being 3 very popular movies up for Best Picture (Black Panther, Bohemian Rhapsody, and A Star Is Born). I also wouldn’t say that the slate of winners was predictable at all; compared to previous years it seemed to be possible for Roma, Bohemian Rhapsody, and Green Book to

Tonight was honestly a Queen appreciation night, which I’m sure Queen fans are satisfied with.

I disagree. Queen was never just Freddie Mercury, and I don’t object to the rest of the band continuing after his tragic death. There was a lot of talent on that stage. Bands aren’t just the frontman. Genesis was still Genesis after Peter Gabriel left.

I just gave this film a bad review on Rotten Tomatoes.

This does not need to be made. As much as I loved Space Jam as a child, it does not hold up at all. I have absolutely no hope that this will be good either. Let the 90's die please. Bring on the 00's nostalgia mining
