He said he wanted to carry bikes, skis and sometimes sleep in it. I don’t see anywhere he said he needed to carry plywood/sheet rock, “bull sheet” or otherwise.

The Frontier is a solid recommendation too. The other two recommendations are just silly.

I’m agreeing with David as well because I think anything newer is going to really disappoint this guy.

Do as I say, not as I do.

I’m seconding Tracy’s recommendation. You can quite easily get one of the last few model years with less than 50K miles in the price range he’s looking for.

It’s ten years old, so you’ll want to make sure it’s not rusty

This is the kind of purity and wonderful shit I need on a horrible thursday. 10/10

Banking on miserable people in a country full of disarray giving in to your lower-perceived-quality brand because they no longer have affordable options is a very weird strategy

Ridden hard, put away wet.  The owner couldn’t even take the time to clean the leaves out of the vent intake behind the motor.  CP.

Well that depends on how much driving she actually does. She may not have put all the wear on the tires, and even if she did, it could have been over the course of many years. Gas guzzling vehicles aren’t too bad to feed if they’re mainly used for local driving.

Where is the negativity in this post? It’s a series of facts.

I, personally, ADORE the C7. It’s a good car.

They are indeed. I can’t wait to get another one, then get kicked out of the house by Mrs. Aardvark because of some BS like, “Buying two impractical sports cars is not the same as having one practical car.”

I actually did that for a friend of mine who had lost his job and whose wife had just had a baby 2 months premature. Although it was only two tires. He picked me up one day to go to the hospital to see the kid, and I was like, why are your front tires bald? So, I took him right to the closest tire store which, funny

Corvettes have to be downplayed by auto journalists, that’s how it works. They are too high performance relative to anything similarly priced to be allowed to exist unchecked. :P

Still not reliable as a Chevy.*

Bro... Where are you going to put the licence plate on your Supra?

So for example, if her husband died in a crash while driving their Toyota Corolla, she’s a fucking idiot for being left with only her deceased husband’s truck?

Unfortunately she wouldn’t be the first single mom to get an excessively high estimate from an auto repair shop.

This is the kind of story where we don’t need to know the details and her circumstances. The fact is that the guy was incredibly generous and helped her out a great deal. We don’t need to always be looking for a problem!

Counterpoint - the OP in the facebook post is trying to hype up uncle Phil, who conveniently lives in Bel Air, for being such a wealthy and humble sport that $1.5k isn’t a sweat for him.
