I feel like I first really noticed it on Nissans.

And this, dear colleagues, is the hybrid that all the dumbasses awaiting the mythical $35K Tesla Model 3 should be buying.

Know what else frees up space? Fucking column shifters. What was wrong with column shifters?

If people didn’t just turn their noses up at a column shifter, this wouldn’t matter. My 2012 Suburban has a column shifter and plenty of space for things in the console area. But buyers think this looks “old” so they try to do a console shift instead and now we have this buttony hot garbage.

Also, we don’t see auto MFGs changing a turn signal stalk to some button interface on the steering wheel or the dash. Know why? because it’s standardized and easy for your hand to hit no matter what you do. I don’t subscribe to the “change it just to change it” or “change it to be different” type of thinking.

Chevy already ruined the Blazer name. Don’t you dare encourage them.

I am not sure what is so bad about a standard style shifter that actuates the transmission electronically. Time tested interfaces are column and console shift. Just stick with that and hide the electronics below. The new gas 2500/3500 Rams now have the rotary shifter. 8 speed is more than welcome on the HD gas trucks

It would take a lot of bravada to change names now.

I still can’t find a convincing reason for not turning the headlights on automatically with the wipers. Not necessarily if you use the momentary wipe or just spray and clean, but if you actually turn on at least the delay/mist, you need your lights on too.  I know a few cars do this, but not many.  Backup cameras are

Proper light management is an obsession of mine, but I don’t entirely blame drivers.

Also people in tall cars that pull too far into an intersection, making a right turn on red impossible because you can’t see around them.

The worst. Pass the semi. You never know when one of those retreads is going to sling itself loose. Everyone should pass semis as fast as possible.

Idiots who have the right of way that stop and try to wave me on, even though I do not have the right of way.

People not paying attention to on ramps/off ramps. Look, I get it, you don’t *technically* have to yield to traffic merging into the lane but you sure as shit have to not hit them! Way too many people dawdle along almost trying to match speed with merging traffic and won’t alter their course in the slightest, even in

Two things that bug me, one is big, one is small.

Last-second lane cutters when it is clearly indicated that a lane closure is ahead due to road work.

When you’re trying to get in the left turn lane but there’s a median preventing you from cutting in early and the car in front where the turn lane starts has a 15 foot gap they refuse to close so you’re stuck waiting and miss the turn signal.

Living in LA, people who fail to go when the light goes green. That hesitation (mostly due to texting I believe) means one or two cars on the other end don’t make that signal, and just add to next queue.

It bugs the hell out of me when other people are on the road when I am. The nerve.
