My mom told us that kids weren't allowed to go into the grocery store until they were 10 (we lived on an army post, and that's the age where you get an ID card). Mine have had a weird trajectory - they got significantly worse every year when I was younger, stabilized around my mid-20s, and then, at 39, they've actually started improving pretty quickly. In the last 2 years I've gone from a -5.75 to a -4.5 in one eye, which is pretty astounding.
