I may just do that. If it hangs in long enough I will definitely do it next year when I can leave my pc running in my dorm all the time. My only main concern is heat. Until I get my ac set up I've been throttling my boinc client to make sure temps don't go to far up. Can you throttle the cpu and gpu with that client

Well, it's not really a window but my HAF 922 has a big grill on one side that makes my hardware pretty viable. I think I could even get a replacement panel with a true window. I don't really know how often people have windows though, I'm assuming its mostly people with gaming pc's.

Which i7's are you looking at? The socket 1155 or the 1366? (I don't think it's worth getting an 1156 board anymore unless it's really cheap)

It is scary how much you can see into my mind.

You were not. I expected an rc helicopter shaving him with its blades. XD

Did it work?

Interesting but I'm a bit leery about putting money into the whole thing. If I signed up I would probably only generate money and convert it out into cash. Anyway I run boinc right now on both my cpu and gpu for charitable organizations and I don't really want to take away from them. I'll have to think about this...

So... Say an i7 920 and a Sapphire 5850 HD, would that be decent? What is your cut-off for high-end? I'm not sure I'll sign up but I'm still curious.

There are definitely configurations out there you can get with those specs. Here is a random example custom laptop site: [www.xoticpc.com]

Very nice. Next we need instructions on how to deal with deadbeats in minecraft. :3

I like the concept of organic food but I buy my neighbor's eggs. Perhaps not organic, but I know where the chickens have been.

I just love it and install it on every out of date pc my friends, relatives, and schoolmates push on me. (among other tools of course)

I use Filehippo and Secunia PSI too! *high five* I tend not to like auto updating/launching stuff though so I disable everything with Autoruns and manually run them every few days (excluding web browsers and their plugins).

I have recently fallen in love with Secunia PSI. I run it manually and in combination with the Filehippo updater (also run manually) I can be sure that the majority of my software is up to date.

Very nice. I need to set up a schedule but so far updates haven't bothered me too much.

And the obligatory: just use linux instead. ;)

I also use autoruns on all of my computers to decrease boot time and it works pretty well. Then again isn't there also some option to start a pc when you enter your home wifi with your phone? Maybe you could set updates and then have the pc reboot while you're just walking in. By the time you sit down it should be up

Just added multi-factor authentication to my LastPass account, I guess I should just take the fall and do it for my Google accounts and Facebook as well.

That's a neat idea. I have an ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 and doing that would make me use the feature a lot more. I'll look into it.
