Well, nine years after I lost those tabs and posted, I can say that it looks like Chrome may behave a bit better (and you may have some more luck). I just made two windows and then deliberately close one and then the other. When I opened up chrome again, I had the last window I closed but hitting Ctlr+Shift+T a few

This reminds me of a cocktail I discovered at a local restaurant that made me first discover Cynar. It’s called the “social smoker”. Laphroaig wash, bourbon (I’ve tried a few different ones at home), Cynar, and cacao (I think they infuse the bourbon with it then filter it).

I mostly learned to drive in and took my test in my father’s Scion tC (5 speed manual in Cherry). I think it has over 200k miles on it now.

Just an interesting thing I noticed, the 16GB 7in tablet is the same price as the 16GB 8in tablet right now: $55. As the article mentions, if you have a prime account there is a $15 discount on the 7in but also a $25 on the 8in. If you’re looking at at least 16GB you should definitely consider the larger tablet

I can relate to the Subaru Forester, my mother bought one new over 10 years ago (2004 I think) and kept it until just earlier this month when she got a 2017 model. She wanted standard and awd so the limited choices among new cars helped that decision I think.

Oh well! I like biking and will continue to enjoy it for leisure and use if for commuting when I can. Good thing you aren’t being forced to bike against your will. :)

Battery life, form factor, and driver support are the main factors that are starting to make me consider replacing my laptop. Physically the thing is fairly bombproof (HP ProBook 4530s). The battery life is fairly disappointing, especially since I replaced the 6cell with a 9cell and I still only get about 4hours, the

microsoft always allows you to transfer a licence if it is a retail one. If it’s pre-installed or you use an oem key yourself (cheaper) then it gets tied to the motherboard you have. I usually get an oem key because I don’t upgrade to a new motherboard often enough to make the retail key worthwhile. Generally I just

(I have one...maybe it’s just the voices in my head though)

I have to remember to bump my Tails stick up to 2.0. I don’t use it that often but it’s always good to have around. I quite like the option of encrypted persistence you can selectively enable at each boot.

Sorry I wasn’t clear. I have AdAway on my Nexus 7. My phone on the other hand, I dare not root because I have Republic Wireless and don’t want to risk losing updates and support (I have a Moto G 1st gen).

I can second AdAway. I use it on my Nexus 7 and it is wonderful. Sadly I haven’t built up the courage to root my phone since I use Republic Wireless and don’t want to screw up the configuration it needs to work. Maybe I’ll do it eventually.

I’ve generally read that positive case pressure is preferable from a dust perspective but I’ve never been able to confirm the accuracy of that with my rig (I just don’t have that setup or case tightness). I have a HAF 922 which just screams dust magnet... Speaking of which, anyone have good setups for easily cleanable

Ouch! I guess it certainly would have made you live on edge.

There’s stirrup style shirt stays that exist in order to minimize nut snapping. ;)

I use both the M570 and the G700 from Logitech and like them for different tasks. I could use them both in a slightly larger size though. They’re both just a little smaller than is most comfortable for extended palm grip use (I’m not as much of a claw person).

Another good shortcut that I only really started using more recently in Windows was Win+direction for multimonitor windows snapping (I didn’t usually have several monitors on the same pc until a new job).

I grew up initially learning to write in cursive with a fountain pen but at some point in middle school all of my written work went to being typed. Most of the time I write by hand I’m solving equations these days. I still love using my original Parker for jotting notes but I find that I don’t have the habit of
