I'm getting a new laptop for university this summer and if I have some extra money (not likely) I really want to give my desktop an ssd. (Ideally I will (would) also add two more monitors, double my ram from 6 to 12, get a second 5850HD and OC my i7 920 with a decent cooler but who knows how likely any of that

I know how you feel. Desktops ftw. I really want to get two more monitors to run on my ATI card, somehow a single 21in lcd isn't enough even though it was enormous for me when I first bought it and built my (first and current) desktop. :P

What about building a mini-itx 1156 i5? You can fit one good gpu on them if you get a decent case (lian-li) and it would save you space while adding power.

I'm assuming we aren't counting VM's as part of our home machines? Maybe you need to re-poll with numbers going up to around 20. Then we could graph the distribution in even better detail. :D

It depends how you count:

I have that problem when playing intense games...leaves a nasty coating on your mouse...

Sorry, until I have more time to find real reasons i'll be sticking to my stereotypes about lead and mercury whether they are true or not. I am open to alternatives. :)

Sadly, I'm an unappreciated genius. (and modest too) ;)

Exactly, I will have to look more into it, but personally, I don't think that I could over come my bias against things like "mussels from China". We may have lots of it now and in the future and it may taste good, but is it safe to eat it and in what quantities? I don't mean to burst bubbles but I'm afraid that I

She's a man, baby! ;)

I just lost the game. :(

It is strange but it honestly doesn't bother me that much. I think it's still too far from appearing like a realistic human to fall into the Uncanny Valley. Maybe if it were only the stylized face with a more normally proportioned body?

This game is the pits.

I'm procrastinating right now...Darn.

Please do. I've always been interested in how to implement multi projector workspaces. That being said, I'm not yet at the point in my life where I can afford one good projector, let alone three. Building a decent single monitor desktop was pushing it but at least I can inspire myself by seeing a cool workspace. :)

Well, I don't have canary then because it works for me. Maybe you should use the setup I have for it if you want it default (it's still dev and I get updates daily). :P

I currently have this version of Chromium: 12.0.713.0 (Developer Build 79223) and I'm using the Chromium Updater set to continuous (so I'm not quite sure if I'm getting the canary releases. I'm surprised that you can't set Chromium as your default browser, what happens when you try?

I'm running Chromium 12 with the separate updater enabled and I feel the same exact way. I did notice a few problems but everything was very quickly fixed.

That possibility is not remote. :D

I'll have to try that but I hope someone finds a better solution, I can't permanently give up my hardware acceleration for better fonts. :(
