*salivates* You should run some benchmarks and post them. I'd be interested in seeing the impact.

@Mister Cow: I ran into the same issues so I tweaked the user agent and luckily enough it fixed my issues.

I'm running Fennec on my poor old Nokia n810, and it's doing relatively well, all things considered. Same old gripe with Maemo (4) not having a working Flash plugin available though...hopefully MeeGo will eventually get ported for it. :(

@PrairieMoon: I like FF but the main thing that bothers me is how the fonts are rendered. In both FF and ie they seem fat and weird after using chrome for ages like I have. (*hint* does anybody know how to fix this?) As for speed, I can't really complain since I abuse the daylights out of it with extensions. Chromium

@PrairieMoon: Very nicely done. However, My machine can still tote the bloat and have decent memory point float. Furthermore, without meaning to dote on my motherboard I must note that expansion slots remain to double my quote-a from 6gb to 12. ;)

@clevin: I think they used this: [dromaeo.com] so I don't think they have a *complete* bias. (They don't exclusively use V8) Though since they are testing dev chrome they should show other dev browsers.

@caincha: I feel your pain. My real reason for sticking with FF is NoScript and some other addons, but I really like Chrome (actually Chromium 12 in my case).

@VicVinegar: Definitely, I know what you mean about tools. I didn't mean to give the idea that I favor only the most used items, I just buy them sooner. I have a few quality tools that I can share with my friends and borrow their good tools in exchange, but when I buy something I always go for quality, my more

I know my list is rather endless ;) but I guess the main point is to categorize your most frequently used items in order and work your way progressively down the list. That sort of ensures the best enjoyment to cost ratio. Of course nobody (or almost) can afford the best of everything so splurge the most on the best

I always feel much more in tune with a vehicle if it's manual. If there's a variable, I like to choose it. I guess that's why I like building my own computers, growing some of my own food, doing my own cooking, and much more. Part of being a Lifehacker is getting more enjoyment and finer control out of your life and I

1: Good coffee and tea (top of the list...)

What I find funny though is that driving schools (at least the one I attended a few years ago) teach the exact opposite. Whenever I adjusted my mirrors the teacher was always telling me to change them so I could see the sides and when I explained they just ignored what I had to say. In the end I just gave in and had

I always find it amazing how few people I know drive manuals the US. In my family, we only have manuals and it really isn't that hard to learn, it just takes a bit more practice. It really feels strange for me whenever I drive an automatic. :P

I tend to use razor blades. They have a definite taper and are wide enough not to gouge cases. I'll have to try guitar picks the next time though.

I rub it against the counter too. The clips are a good idea, but the last time I used one for toothpaste it punctured a hole in the tube. :(

I guess I'm pretty lucky. Every time we renovated a room in our house we ran more cat5e and now every room has wired and wireless without any visible cables. :D

Well, in brief, I like it a LOT better than IE8 but Chromium is still my go to. I do however need to rerun some test with fresh installs but my picture tells the story for my current installation (left to right, top to bottom: Chrome, Chromium, Firefox, IE9). Microsoft is slowly getting to where the other browsers are.

I use Chromium too. Also, It is a bit unfair for me to compare browsers since I have tons of different extensions in each but here was my preliminary run with Google's v8 benchmark. I'll runs it again with a fresh install (and a few other tests) as soon as I can. As you can see, Chromium (dev) still takes the cake for

I'm delirious with joy.
