DJ Tanner is a Christian Conservative Republican who has some pretty problematic views.

I didn’t think this show was all that—the writing felt a bit obligatory, like they felt the need to offer the broadest possible take on every single thing that has happened since the last show—but oh man was it refreshing to go an entire show without them leaning on the crutch of “surprise” cameos for easy audience

My initial thought was that Claudia was a difficult teen and KellyAnne is a shitty mother (who was absentee most of the time, who exactly was supervising those kids in NJ while their parents were in DC) who couldn’t handle a troubled teen and that they were problem both yelling at eachother.

The childporn is just

I mean even that kind of psychopath would have covered their tracks and leaked it anonymously, not on their own Twitter account.

But the child porn kind of blows that out of the water. Nobody’s going to do that just to grab a viral moment.

Neither I nor anyone outside of that house know exactly what is going on but it’s pretty clear that at minimum they should be in therapy, both individual and family.

Healthy jealousy would be the kind that you experience and manage on your own (or with a therapist) — not the kind you expect your partner to manage for you by adjusting their behavior.

Oh, Ted Cruz is an infinitely superior candidate. I mean, yes, he’s odious, reprehensible, and willing to sacrifice lives and peace and freedom for the sake of his own personal hollow vanity and ambition. But he’s also smart and experienced: Princeton (national debating champion); Harvard (law review editor); Supreme

I’d love to believe there was some justice involved in Trump sycophants all trying to kickstart their political careers and having them burn to ashes because they sucked up so hard to Trump, but with Arkansas voting for Trump in both 2016 and 2020, the latter despite fully knowing what he was like, the odds of a Trump

As the dad of an out-and-proud 14 year-old, it sure does rule to live in the first era of human history where a gay kid can be themselves with less fear of reprisals than ever before (yes, I know it’s still dangerous and yes I’ve made her aware of that, but I’m still happy for her).

“The reason that I’m not ready to say this answer is because I don’t know this answer,” she said. “[I want to] keep things in my life private until they are ready to be shared with the public.”

And none of these people have ever been in my kitchen.

She hit the trifecta of 1) being enthusiastic about her job during a time when the internet hated enthusiasm for anything, 2) not backing down when she was owed something and 3) being very very pretty.

Meanwhile James Thomas Fallon is absolutely a “Jimmy”.

No you fucking can’t claim the ethnicity of the people that raised you unless you actually are that fucking ethnicity.

It doesn't matter who your mom shacks up with.  If you're white, you're white.

So as a non-Asian person, by that logic, if my stepfather is Korean does that mean I can all of a sudden claim that culture?

I don’t know if it was over the top for that era, honestly. The internet was a very different place then. This was the heyday of Louis C.K. and a particular brand of “I’m a contrary piece of shit and I say offensive things because I’m a dirtbag and also much smarter than you so if you take offense you’re just too dumb

Honestly, given the time period of those tweets (2011 - 2012), it’s not outlandish for them to be hamfisted attempts at comedy? It’s only recently that Twitter has become a bastion for the ultra-left and the alt-right at the same time. In its early-2000s heyday, not only was comedy in this vein accepted as mainstream,

I reread the story and saw clearly that I’d framed it so poorly, so insensitively. Bean Dad, full of braggadocio and dickhead swagger, was hurting people. I’d conjured an abusive parent that many people recognized from real life.
