That’s nice but men are trash.

Good. I like(d) Ryan Adams’ music, but maybe if he actually pays a real penalty for this shit it’ll make the next rich dude think twice before he shows his dick to a 14-year-old.

Oh yeah, I just wear my wedding band myself because I have wee hobbit hands and wearing two rings overwhelms my fingers. But I thought people who could afford big fancy diamonds usually wanted to wear both, so as to continue to show off said big fancy diamond.

I don’t think they were looking for POC to attack - I think they were probably stalking Jussie specifically, because the alternative is both ludicrous and terrifying.

Aren’t Cardi B and Offset supposed to be getting a divorce? I thought they were breaking up but now he’s on her Insta a lot.

Yeah ... I need to read more about that. I don’t really understand why the US government is trying to block participation in BDS. Seems like they’re overstepping.

Oh, yeah, if some random or a comedian tweeted it nobody would have blinked an eye. They might have disagreed, but it wouldn’t be seen as offensive. The issue is just that she’s a politician and it’s a public forum.

I mean, in 2013 Gawker praised Ellen DeGeneres for dressing up as Nikki Minaj. It wasn’t full-on blackface, but she sure looks like she’s wearing some bronzer. People really want to pretend like white people all woke up in 1960 and knew dressing up as black celebrities was unforgivable, but that’s ignoring very recent

There’s been a real shift (for white people, anyhow) over the last ten or 15 years. In 2005 I thought dark makeup was basically okay if it was part of a celebrity costume and wasn’t done as a racist caricature.. I can remember talking about it over on Gawker and that being the general consensus.

Omar was being overly flippant in a way she probably should have avoided on Twitter ... but I agree with her opinion. US foreign policy is far too influenced by pro-Israel donors, and we need to be able to have an honest conversation about that without kneejerk cries of antisemitism.

If you just vanish, yeah. But if it’s more like you and your ex talk and agree she’ll take full custody because you aren’t in a good place in your life to parent, and you keep paying child support, and you have no reason to think the mother is harming the kid -- I might think you’re a lousy dad and are missing out on

Why would they need to move to have a baby, though? The house is plenty big, and I can’t see them wanting to move to Orange County or whatever.

Definitely a little off the deep end, but they’re both pretty young and he’s had a LOT of issues in the past. It makes sense they’d want and need a little extra help. Also, I commend them for doing the counseling and all of that instead of just getting pregnant and figuring the baby will make everything magically okay.

Right? The whole “yachting” thing seems to be his personal fixation. I’m not saying it never happens, but there are easier ways to make money that don’t require months away from home.

I don’t think it’s neglect if the child is being cared for by other family members, which seems to be the case here. To me neglect implies you aren’t making sure your kid is fed/warm/safe/happy/loved. Kaya can be all of those things without having her mom in her life every day.

What I think is weird about the Cooke Maroney thing is that some of the gossip sites I read this morning are calling him “mysterious.”

That makes sense. And yeah, I’m sure they’d stagger the resignations so none of the top three seats went to Republicans.

Not in Virginia. Line of succession is Northam, Fairfax, and then the attorney general. His name is Mark Herring and, to go by the nine thousand fundraising emails he sends me, he is indeed a Democrat.

Northam’s camp says it wasn’t them, but who knows at this point? The woman told her story to the Washington Post over a year ago anyhow, so it’s not like she just now made it up. It would have come out sooner or later.

I would have said that but then the rape allegations against Fairfax surfaced. It feels like we’d be trading one set of problems for another.
