How men understand bra sizes
How men understand bra sizes
I get what you’re saying in regards to CG trailers, but I don’t think that narrative-driven trailers are a bad thing, especially if the game is narrative-focused. I think the MGS trailers do a good job with this; they’re almost exclusively made up of cutscene footage, but since all the cutscenes are rendered in…
Except racism/sexism/etc. is bullying you can’t get away from, not just by bullies in school but by teachers, employers, anyone in authority, anyone in a store, anyone who knows or just thinks they know your race or gender based on your name or your face or you voice. It’s a constant low-level stress that makes you…
But I hear the term racism thrown around as if it’s somehow worse than regular bullying. The thing is it isn’t.
Of course, the first comment we’d read on a blog post trying to sensitise about the Asian American experience would go out of its way to denigrate Asian men while pretending to be open-minded. The word “typical” doesn’t even begin to describe it.
Yeah, you’re right. Being picked on in school for being ‘smart’ is the same as having most if not all of society structurally aligned against you because of your skin color.
You were picked on because you were smart? Apparently not smart enough to know it’s spelled “clique”. I'm just here to point out how easy it is to be a bully.
I don’t think you have a right to tell us, as a white woman, to “have some self-respect” when that very sense of self-respect (and respect from others) has been repeatedly denied to us from the moment we and/or our parents set foot in the United States, whether outwardly through racist remarks or through…
“I’ve about had it with the self-deprecating remarks from Asians (almost always men) online.”
As a black kid and the smartest kid in class most of my life. Um... yeah, pretty sure being black got me a lot more shit than being smart.
This is the definition of white privilege, Ms. Fever. It is not your right to police Asian men’s performance of Asian-ness (for lack of a better word), as much as it’s not my right to police your performance of femininity. As several commenters noted below, what you perceive as Asian men “rolling over” for white…
This comment is super irritating. You’ve basically just completely discounted racism. I was the smart kid and I’m Indian, guess which one the kids chose to pick on? 7-11 jokes non stop. And you say be proud of being picked on? Does that also mean we should thank our bullies for making us feel special? Sometimes kids…
In other words....
Maybe try not policing how people of color handle themselves and worry about fellow white people who enable this behaviour. Marginalized people wouldn’t have to grovel and self hate if white people didn't eat that shit up.
I agree. It is not the first time I seen a post of someone on the web claiming to date an Asian girl in the past just to say in the last sentence that they had lots of sex or made her moan and scream - I am being serious. Not sure what the point of these comments are other than to promote the stereotype of Asian women…
I’ll refer you to this Jezebel article: The Problem With Calling Women ‘Females’
Personally I’m not completely against a woman division, as there can be benefits. If a field or sport is made up of 99% of one type of person, then it can create an additional hurdle for anyone else trying to make it in simply because of the culture.
I think some people thought it was a set-up for the purposes of extraditing him to the U.S. I think that amplified the suspicion people had of the victims, suspicion which is unfortunately baked into our society. It’s like government conspiracy culture multiplied by rape culture.
It pokes some great fun at RPG tropes while having lots of fanservice. Though oftentimes it goes very far into “victimizing girls for your sexual pleasure” territory, commonly seen in hentai.
I have to confess - as I’m a Korean-American. Breakfast at Tiffany’s is one of my all-time favorite films. I can totally understand though.
