For some reason I read your comment and pictured it in the style of Terry Gilliam’s Brazil. Can we get the folks over at TheAutopian.com to produce a short film about the now directionless City of Troy code enforcement clerk?  I don’t think Gilliam is doing anything nowadays....

That’s the part that makes this even more frustrating.....Rory doesn’t have to address all the issues with Jalopnik brought up here. Yes, we are all using this as an opportunity to vent/mourn. Here is a perfect chance to step in and praise what Jalopnik still is and can be, and to push the talent that still works

Rory responds by first attacking readers. Rory is the editor in chief. Rory gets rightly called out in comments for attacking the readers.  I think the criticism of how he handles this is well placed.

Might want to reread and learn how to reply to the right comment. My gripe is that Rory’s first reaction is to lash out, which is solely his responsibility and under his control.

If your first reaction is “Grow up” then you are missing the point. Here is an opportunity for you to step in and reassure the folks who frequent this site that while you are losing two unique voices, you have many more that are committed to continue on the tradition of what made Jalopnik great: unique and irreverent

Oh wow.  Can’t wait to see what this next chapter is but also feel like this is a bit of a eulogy for Jalopnik.  There are still some great folk around here (looking at you, Mercedes) but what has kept me coming back despite all the GMG BS is Torch and David.  Good luck to all!

Yeah, but does he have a hacked version of Mortal Kombat on SNES that has blood and cost $200 and a dad whose ice cream truck is really just a cover for his real job as a hacker?

Me: I’m so excited for more Xenoblade!!!

You needed a word?

On a side note, I am slightly intrigued by the way they are using the online expansion pass.  Haven’t picked it up yet, but if the new norm is for first party DLCs to be included (first Animal crossing, now Mario Kart) then that would be a compelling reason to spring for it and enjoy the benefit of n64/Genesis games

But why have St Arnold’s pumpkin when you can have literally any other beer they make?  I guess maybe if the beer garden is out of everything else......

Same as how to enjoy pumpkin beer:

From my experience, the absolute worst is working on the cooling system for a JL Wrangler. Absolute nightmare. Whoever helped design it clearly should rethink their life choices......

“Listen, most people do not understand the First Amendment does not mean literally anyone can say anything and does not protect one from consequences of one’s own speech, and honestly we don’t expect them to.” -presumably also the NYT using the same stupid logic elsewhere.....

Your point is perfectly spot on.  A great example of misunderstanding correlation vs causation.  There’s nothing wrong with the cars at all, just when they aren’t streaming Brandi Carlile they are tuned to NPR.

As a Subaru owner I’d love to contradict you, but.....nope.  Spot on.

You say glitch, I say feature.....

Who’s down to draw up the ‘74 AMCvengers? I need to see that team on a splash page.  I’m sure we have more then a few artists around here.....

“Here is our lobby.  And this is our vending machine.  Now on to what you have all been waiting for.....the water closet.”

So.....a garlic press?
