Knives Out is so goddamn fun and the script is airtight. My only complaint is that the middle segment lost some of the momentum and felt a little draggy once the action moved away from the house, but man did it stick the landing.

I’d love a Seveneves series, and I see no reason it couldn’t work given the right creative team and budget. 3 parts to the book, 3 seasons. The end of season 2 would be a HELL of a thing to watch if you haven’t read the book.
My favorite film ever is The Fountain, so I totally get what you’re talking about.
It has to be a lock for best original screenplay, right?
The Lighthouse owns. Maybe not the absolute best of the year (I haven’t seen Parasite or The Nightingale or The Irishman yet) but it’s definitely the one that’ll stick in my head the most.
Hell yeah dude.
Chapo Traphouse, It Could Happen Here, Cum Town, My Brother My Brother And Me, The Omnibus, U Talkin’ U2 To Me, What A Time To Be Alive
Yeah, the Magisterium as written in the novels is basically the Roman Catholic church, but any adaptation that wants to be at all relevant has to incorporate Protestant Megachurch culture into the mix, and that’s the direction the show seems to be going with it.
Cleavon Little’s delivery of the “Let’s play chess” line is so perfect. Somehow he managed to make it uncomfortable without going full-on Gay Panic with it.
This is definitely worth pointing out. I’ve watched Blazing Saddles several times, always with different people, and some viewers really don’t get the satire.
Thematically that works, but I can’t imagine them doing it in a way that doesn’t seem goofy and stupid.
I like the idea of a shitload of starships from every era of Star Wars coming together to make a big ragtag Resistance fleet.
I don’t think they’ll go that route. I’ve heard a few theories about her parentage that are all pretty stupid for one reason or another, but I don’t think the title refers to her biological origins. Rey’s arc has gone from trying to avoid her calling to stepping up and embracing it. First she insisted she had to stay…
Andy Richter should co-host it with Wolf Blitzer.
Bless your heart.
When I was in 9th grade I entered my school’s talent show with a Devil Sticks routine set to Dragula, and it’s sad to know I’ll never be that cool again.
Nominating SNL and not I Think You Should Leave is fucking pathetic.
I get it.
“Hey! They’re lighting their arrows! ...Can they DO that?”
“Wow, that tall child looks terrible!”
