Erik linked to it in his answer under the Wayne’s World clip. I do think 30 Rock deserves its own entry though.

...Brett? Is that you?

I feel a little bad for laughing at that. Just a little.

The difference between George St Geegland and most of the “big, weird characters” on SNL is that George is funny and doesn’t suffer from diminishing returns.

—king $6300 suit!

I got to see Oh Hello at the Warner Theater in DC, and it is without a doubt the most I have ever enjoyed a live performance of any kind in my entire life.

Correct on all counts. I picked up this trilogy the last time it was on sale, and while it was fun to watch the extended versions for the first time in ten years, I definitely prefer the pacing of the theatrical cuts.

They definitely had the latest in rancid, improperly-canned food.

To each his own! I think I gave up my right to judge anyone’s opinions when I admitted to enjoying the ending of Sunshine.

I don’t dislike the ending as much as most people seem to, but I still really hope they take the show in a different direction.

Robusto68 is right, you should read Hyperion. The 3rd and 4th books are hit or miss for some folks, but I love them, and pretty much everyone likes the first 2. Ilium and Olympos are weirder and arguably suffer from Dan Simmons’ self-indulgence and problematic treatment of Islam, but they’re still wildly imaginative

If they do justice to that scene... goddamn.

Thank you!

Damn, I wish I had cable. I’m glad to hear it’s off to such a promising start; it’ll be interesting to see how the show handles the supernatural elements, especially the ending.

That was a huge bummer. Liam McIntyre did an excellent job, but he never quite matched the persona and physicality that Andy Whitfield brought to the role. I still loved all 4 seasons, though, and the clip of Andy at the end of the last episode’s credits made me tear up.

It wouldn’t have been dumb if they had actually done something with it or used it to explore any ideas beyond a bland “teamwork is good” moral.

35 years from now we’ll get a Rogue One-esque prequel to The Last Jedi about the First Order-sympathizing scientist who designed the Resistance bombers to push their bombs out really slowly for no apparent reason.

And the qualifier is “as long as you don’t think about it.”

HEY, I’M DRINKIN’ HERE!
