I've only seen a couple break after 7 years (mine included) the little motor that moves the laser broke. $12 part that takes all of 3minutes for anyone to install though. Still its pretty obvious they didn't expect people to still be playing them a lot in 7 years.

Wait, how was the ps2 unreliable? I'm really confused I've been using the same launch model since it came out and so have many others, the slim was a piece of shit though.

Bose doesn't make much that is bad, they just make very specific solutions that are very expensive, lots of science goes into their stuff. The worst thing they make is definitely the wave system. Its kind of pointless since 2 nice bass reflex cabinets and an amp are about the same size and price.

The only think they need to do to get this to sit well with me and a great many other people is give it a blaze orange tip. If someone wants to be retarded and paint it black and its mistaken for a real gun... So be it.

The limit is pretty much non existant lots of guys use 1tb hard drives, just rember you need to use a laptop (2.5in) HDD.

there is no comfirmation that hdd upgrades had anythimg to do with it. its just people who have them are most vocal on the forum.

Yeah but nothing is broken... Just the firmware.

In recovery you can reflash the same version. Doesn't matter though as long as its 4.4.5 or greater.

this has also been affecting stock models with very small disks as well. its a bit of a community bias because most of the guys on the forum have upgraded drives.

shouldnt the fix be to rename 4.4.1 to 4.4.5 (internally) then send that out to people to flash in safe mode?

yup that sounds like a more than plausible fix.

yes but if this only affects 1 in 1000 then its pretty easy to have it slip by.

They are right, it looks way better without her in it. There are plenty of moments in the game where she isn't around too so its not that odd.

I understand that, the super slim seems more robust since it lacks a slot loader as well I just think the design is awful from a usage standpoint it would never work in my cabinet wedged between my 360 and PS2.

You would not be able to cool that. If they tried it could be the size of maybe 1 1/2 bricks.

The super slim is definitely far cheaper to make. No slot loader, its lighter (important when shipping out of China) and otherwise in general its just made out of cheaper shit.

Why don't you just buy a used one after Christmas when they will be cheap as chips.

I'm loving this car more and more everyday. Unless it has major problems it really is an astounding feat of engineering to get the price on such a beast that low.

people need to stop claimimg that their console is bricked as far as I can tell at worst you need a reformat and new firmware and at best just new firmware. bricked would imply there is nothing in the laymans power to ever fix it.

I'm starting to think this is just a confirmation bias because most of the guys on the forums have upgraded hard drives and are hard core users that would be playing at midnight. Not sure I can blame Sony either, if this turns out to be only a couple thousand out of a million problem the chances of it not showing in
