I am so heartbroken for him. I remember seeing him perform at the Largo a few months before his wife passed and the way he talked about his family was just so sweet and loving.  I cried when the news of Michelle’s passing broke. It’s just so, so sad.

I am a Native American that grew up in small town America, and have fielded more than my share of racism over my years, and I found Jackie’s arc incredibly refreshing, mainly because I related to it so well.

The criticism of this show really bothered me, because their jokes did a great job discussing issues related to race and gender — there were Native American actors on the show as Jane Krasinski’s parents, who were fantastic in comedic roles, and there was great commentary on what it means to be a modern NA family.
