@Tony Prince: I suspect you'll have to supply a copy of the police report that they expect you to file.

@clifwith1f: My ears have the weirdest shape. I've never been able to find earbuds that feel right, even with all the different size adapters they give you. I tried Apple's for the first time a couple weeks ago. Amazingly, they were actually comfortable, although I don't think they'd stay in very well while running.

@thenk83: A phrase in regular rotation around my house: "It's okay! That's why it has a case!"

@123rufus: No. Only the original iPhone came with a dock. They stopped including them with the 3G on. Now you have to buy it for $29.

What's that GMail labs setting where you can have it prompt you if you forgot an attachment? Maybe Gizmodo needs one of those.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if even though they were all delivered a day early, they didn't allow anyone to activate until the 24th? Damn, that would suck.

@BGR: Apple is the one who sent us the email in the first place. Apparently they don't mind if people get their phones early this year.

@BernardMagic: Paid extra? It was free shipping no matter what, there was no choice for 2-day shipping or anything.

@RandomDesign: Not quite. I was upgrading from a dumb phone, not from a previous iPhone or anything. But it still had to transfer my number over. It's just that the process was just that easy (the SIM card was pre-programmed with all my info already.)

@RandomDesign: Except I didn't actually "swap" anything out. The iPhone was delivered on launch day, I plugged it into iTunes, it asked me to confirm my phone number and accept the terms and conditions, and it activated. I most definitely did NOT have to go to the store to activate.

@johnnyabnormal: Not so. Maybe for the 3G, but the 3GS last year was the same as the iPhone 4 - could preorder for delivery to your house and activate at home.

@RandomDesign: No, the 3GS did NOT have to be activated in store. I had mine delivered to my house (and as s7arbuck up there mentioned, there was the same song and dance with people thinking they were going to get them early based on the shipment tracking, when in reality FedEx and UPS held them till launch day just

@Sent from my toilet: I would love to go commando with my iPhone, but I am the clumsiest person I know, and drop my phone far too often to go case-less. I get the smallest case I can that still gives good shock protection, and these things have paid for themselves many times over in keep my phone in one piece. *sigh*

@Slade: Griffin, Belkin, and the other big case designers know what they're doing. They may not be your cup of tea, but they're probably not "garbage."

@tkuhl87: AT&T required you to ship the phone to the billing address. So assuming he gets the bill, then yes, he'll also be getting your phone.

@TJM-CODE: If I had an Apple Store 10 minutes away, I'd have done the same thing. Unfortunately, the closest one to me is 45+ minutes away. Not exactly convenient.
