As a veteran, we fought for your right to whatever you want without anyone forcing you to do anything. Want to stand? Good for you. Want to kneel? I’m glad I helped protect your right to do that without being arrested. Want to spout out about how someone is being a crybaby for doing something you deem inappropriate

That’s weird, because when I hear the national anthem, I think of all the Native Americans we massacred for their land.

that was way too many words to say “if you don’t agree with my narrow world view, you suck.”

He absolutely could and should do all of things you’re suggesting - but look at the massive and ridiculous reaction he’s gotten with one small act. This is actually an effective protest, it’s gotten people talking, it’s made them mad and it’s making them uncomfortable.

I happened to hang out with friend yesterday who used to be in the armed forces and is currently in federal law enforcement. He said he admired the balls of Kaepernick for doing what he did and that he (my friend) served in the military so that Kaepernick and everybody else can freely exercise their right to speak out

It’s too bad that she won’t stand for the people who have died for her so she has the right to wave a rainbow flag. The most beautiful part of it all is that we also have the freedom to leave.

What a nationalistic mentality. Not everyone feels that the wars soldiers fight and have fought lead to our freedoms being protected. I know I don’t. As an openly gay women in a national sport she fought through a lot- to EARN it as you say -to do what she feels during a national anthem.

So what about the guy in the bathroom taking a 2 chapter shit. Is he disrespecting the flag. What about the girl serving beer and fries in the concourse. Is she disrespecting the flag? The camera man on the sidelines? The lady sitting breast feeding her baby?

I’m pretty sure the people who died for our freedoms didn’t do it so that this country would become a place where you have to show dogmatic loyalty to symbols as if we lived in a dictatorship, saluting “Dear Leader” and bowing down lest we be marked a traitor. Let’s save that forced patriotic bullshit for North Korea.

You mean, like equal protection under the law? I’d say that’s worth crying over.

If you don’t demand more from your country than how would progress happen? You call it crying but I didn’t see any tears on that field. I just see two people taking a stand for a cause that means a great deal to them. Which, from what I understand, is the right that troops fight for us to have.

Awwww, you're so full of shit.

We also have the freedom to kneel if we want to when we hear the anthem. Or turn our backs. Or dance a jig. Those people died for her freedom to do that too.

Reid has been GOING HARD the past few weeks. Her and Maddow are the only two on MSNBC I can watch anymore.

Yeah, well, yesterday Joy Reid said Next Generation was better than original series Star Trek, so fuck her.

There’s no dealing with people who think the charity organization watchers are all part of the liberal cabal hell bent on destroying America, and believe me I’ve had these conversations. So then how do you convince them the Clinton Foundation does any good? You can't. I actually wish the ‘liberal media’ was actually a

It’s just given us this wonderful exchange, though:

I just looked up at the sky and saw this:

Please tell me I am having a Mulholland Drive-esque dream, and I am going to wake up in May 2015, and everything is going to be ok again.
