Yes! When he was rolling his eyes about how his wife took the kid to get medical attention after falling through the trap door from the attic to his room, I was like Seriously? That’s what a good parent does. When their kid gets hurt, they make sure they are OK and not going to die of a brain bleed overnight. But the

I thought the same thing...like it was going to be an adult playground and a “hacked” list of games and activities meant for stress relief in the shortest possible time.

Literally took my first Wellbutrin this morning. It’s so good to hear your positive story.

Yeah, this whole athleisure thing is weird for me too. I first I hated it. In fact, I made several comments Jez about it being a status symbol, and people who were doing it just to project an image.

Daschle’s loss in 2004 was my first election. I remember sitting up with my roommate in the dorms watching the numbers scroll on the bottom of the screen and us being like “No. This isn’t really happening.”

My issues with him probably have more to do with personal experience more than him being that much “worse” than other potential Repubican nominees.

Oh man, I with you.

I thought you were referring to skin-to-skin since the entirety of your comment was

Yeah, I was giving the benefit of the doubt, because I don’t have kids and am not in the medical field, but many people seem to be saying what you are saying.

I totally understand that it may be a fad, and maybe there haven’t been any really good studies on it, but the article that you linked to is primarily about co-sleeping, which is a whole different can of worms.

There’s no “cost of a c-section” though.

Yeah, I’ve definitely heard a lot recently about the over use of c-sections, especially in the US. I just wanted to point out that not ALL c/s are avoidable.

In this case, it seems like that wouldn’t have helped. This woman had a c-section, which requires an OR, surgeon, anesthesiologist, etc.

That makes sense, and I’m not overly outraged or thinking this hospital is the worst or anything.

Does that really make a difference though? Whether you know you’re paying for it or not?

The “extra nurse” requirement seems a bit bogus to me.* It sounds like skin-to-skin is recognized as being medically beneficial. In which case, it should be the standard of care and included in the cost of the c-section. Kind of like, if having an extra nurse there during a surgery to suction out blood or whatever

2.) I am a little bit older, came of age in the 90's, but I feel like this kind of thing didn’t happen back then.

I read it differently, not that they were trying to clear her name from being a girl who had sex, but to clear her name from being a liar.
