I still think it’s ultimately better to do good things for the wrong reasons than to do nothing for the right reasons.

I’m not sure...I know one of my actual friends just quit selling bags after 4ish(?) years. A couple of other Facebook friends have switched what they are selling, but seem to have bought into the whole MLM thing.

Just to be clear, she has that kind of stuff, but I don’t know how many other of her friends do (I definitely don’t—grad school stipend here).

The worst part is that of all the people I know doing it most of them don’t need the money (obviously, I don’t know cash flow specifics of all my acquaintances, but these are people who buy nice cars/clothes, take vacations, etc).

I just wrote a similar comment. I think everyone I know currently sells bags/cookware/eyelashes(?)/essential oils/cleaning products/supplements/whatever.

Noooo. Nothing against Tupperware, and it sounds like Brownie Wise was motivated and entrepreneurial, but I think everyone I know is currently participating in some multi-level marketing scheme with varying quality/usefulness of product.

I guess they’ll deal with it the same way they deal with it when one kid empties out the toilet paper dispenser. They decide to keep toilet paper under nurse’s supervision in that case too, right?

For me (and I’m neither a parent nor a kid), I would consider any picture that you would consider hanging on a wall appropriate. (Obviously, you don’t have to limit it the number you would actually be able to hang on a wall) and I would consider the window to extend pretty much forever unless the kid tells you

That’s not what this is about though, (I think the wording is not totally clear in the beginning of the article)

Are you me?

Yes, I see what you say with the “If guys were like girl XC” videos. Those laugh at entrenched gender roles and stereotypes which doesn’t serve to challenge them.

I have seen it! I’m in the middle of the Cosplay series now. I skipped it at first, because I didn’t have time to watch all the eps at once, and also, I know nothing about anime/cosplay...but now that I’m watching it, I’m loving it. They are just so sincere about learning about things.

(As I mentioned in another comment, I’ve been using Buzzfeed videos as a hardcore procrastination tool in the last 2ish months, so I’m kind of embarrassed how well-versed I am in all of this)...

In the linked video, 1 out of 4 of the guys has a lot of experience changing diapers (so much that he is the one “supervising” and correcting the others mistakes). I can’t speak to guys this age, because I’m a woman, but I know that neither my high school nor the schools I taught in had any sort of parenting

Have you watched these videos? (OK, internet tone is hard and I’m not trying to say this like an asshole)

As an aside, why is that the first question I am asked whenever I go to the Doctor. I went in for a colonoscopy, when was my last period, I have an earache when was my last period. I have a funny looking mole, when was my last period.

The point is that dogs are seen as more deserving protagonists for children’s books than black girls. There’s nothing wrong with reading about dogs (I loooooooove dogs). But there’s a problem when so many authors are seeing them as more relatable than black human girls.

The only way that makes since is if the emergency fund is has a higher interest rate than the credit cars, which is pretty unlikely. (Unless, say, you have a card at 0% interest for x months, in which case, yes, go ahead and put all your money into savings and pay the base on the credit card).

Ugh, that’s sad.
