They highlight all the interesting/unusual events in a game. If they didn't show it you'd accuse them of covering it up and only showing the positive stuff.

Oh, and by the way: You're kind of an arrogant dick, aren't you?

I've been a soccer referee for 10 years. I know the game.

This has always bugged me about soccer/football. It wasn't a foul worthy of a penalty kick, but he did grab him. However, the referee's only choices are to either call the foul and thus award what will most likely be a goal, or call nothing. How about something in between, like playing a man down for a period of time,

Or Dwyane Wade. Or Lebron. Or Manu Ginobli. Or...

How about Deadspin have actual umpires or referees on retainer, and they could check things out before posting yet another uninformed post concerning rules, officiating, etc.

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. You NEVER have to throw to second, on or off the rubber, in any level of baseball. Ask any umpire.

The pitcher had the ball the whole time. I don't think you understand that he simply faked the throw to second while holding the ball. Absolutely legal (though totally bush league in my old-school opinion).

You're just making shit up. You NEVER have to throw to second. NEVER.

That's a pretty broad statement; a lot of environmentalists disagree with you.

Agreed it's awkward and ugly, but I don't see where it's grammatically incorrect.

I don't see how you can call that a run-saving play. No way would Kendrick have tried to score if Cespedes hadn't fumbled the ball in the first place.

At least Rick Reilly can look back on his glory days. Whereas you, sir, will always suck.

Yes, let's take shots at high school girls who are out there just to compete and enjoy the game. You stay classy, dude.

That's not true if there are two outs.

That wouldn't be a grand slam, and this wasn't a home run. Check your rulebook.

Two words: duct tape.

You're living in the past. Today there are only a handful of pitchers who contribute anything at the plate; most can't even lay down a bunt, nevermind swing and put the ball in play. Honestly, it's ruining the National League for me.
