My ex had a Nespresso machine. Every so often, you gather the pods, dump out the grounds, and take them in a bag to the Williams Sonoma store at a nearby mall, where they keep them and then give them to the Nespresso rep who takes them to be recycled.

Nespresso will send you a self-addressed, postage paid UPS bag to ship the pods back for recycling. They are really into the recycling thing... There is no excuse for not recycling them.
