Our Toyota dealer tried to sell us a 3rd party protection plan that duplicated some services already in the Toyoguard Platinum plan. I had to try way too hard to get them to realize this and remove it.

> Toyota Sued For Maintenance Plan

This. In a big way.

And now you know why dealerships are panicking over EVs. All of that overpriced maintenance will soon be unnecessary.

Plenty of people live with and/or care for others who are severely immunocompromised. Now yeah the chances of it are probably on the lower side, but I don’t blame those for being super cautious.

I think I will mask up for every airplane flight for the foreseeable future if it pisses off infants like this.

Ok, as an airline pilot I can tell we do not assume you are drunk and kick you off. Here is the rule; If you appear intoxicated by federal law we cannot allow you on the flight. That’s it, not even actually drunk, but if you stumble up, slurring words, and acting like an ass then yeah, no ride for you

This story is emblematic how so many people in this country love freedom for themselves, but then refuse to grant that same freedom to others. I am sure he cited ‘freedom’ as a reason not to get vaccinated. But then here he denies this other person freedom to wear a mask.

It’s amazing how it threaded the needle perfectly between two gas pumps. This could have been waaaaaaaay worse.

Bought one today! The $239 is not inclusive of taxes or fees but I got a $44k MSRP ioniq 6 SE for $280 a month with $280 due at signing. Not a dime more. That’s about as close as one can get. At minimum, with taxes and fees, it’s $260-$270 plus this one had a few add-ons.

The only current argument against PHEV is the price premium. Aside from that they make a ton of sense vs competing options.   Hopefully the next generation of them have a little more EV-range (say 100miles) and a little cheaper.

The plug in hybrid i really want that VW wont sell here is the MK8.5 GTE. Its a GTI with hybrid assist making 268hp and with an electric only range of 62 miles! They also have an MK8.5 Wagon. A completely ideal PHEV for me would be the GTE as a wagon. 60+ miles EV only, 368hp, prob around $40k. please make that and

I know there is a lot of disdain from EV owners especially for PHEVs because of the dual drivetrain, but they make a huge amount of sense. There are arguments about which is green, but set that aside. The real benefit is having the PHEV as the “first” car in any household. It can run on electric for most local

You must be older than me. I remember 99 cent gas and my dad throwing a fit when it went over a dollar.

It's mandatory for trunks. This isn't a trunk, plus it isn't fully enclosed from external light, given external light comes in from the cabin windows.

How did this happen ?

Everyone posting the current generation and only the first generation, and skipping about six generations between them are kind of missing the point here.

The Ford Maverick. Go from a chunky compact car:

I would have liked to say the Civic Type R, but the new one is much less Anima Mecha-Wannabe than the previous generation.
