Well to be fair, chatGPT doesn’t generate images, just text. You can ask it all day how ai image generation programs such as mid journey mess up hands but chatGPT isn’t going to have that info.

From the screenshot you didn’t ask how many fingers it thought a human hand has, you asked if AI can count how many fingers there are on a hand.

It would depend on the model architecture and the training data. You could potentially include the number of fingers in an image as part of the training data and the model might be then make the connection. You could make a model that generated a “skeleton” as part of the image generation and that could emphasize…
