In a vacuum that may be true (I didn’t bother looking up what each goes for separately), but aside from how many months MS basically gave away for free, I think OP meant that the sheer convenience of having all in one bundle is really nice.

No, I totally agree, and despite not being a big Apple fan, I don’t begrudge them that, at all. I’d also be willing to bet it’s the best offer MW got, so I don’t blame them for taking it. I was mainly trying to explain why people are salty; I should’ve made it clearer that I don’t blame either party.

Sorry, I meant “Apple-only, I’m aware it can be run on various Apple devices, which is why I included “so anyone not buying Apple products can’t play.”

The Fantasian defenders on here keep trying to put words in others’ mouths; I didn’t defend console exclusives, because those also suck for gamers. I’m an advocate for the largest percentage of people getting to play any game. I laid out the barriers between said largest percentage of gamers and this one, and I don’t

“Who gives a shit about people who like “owning” their games. I haven’t bought anything on disc since 2013 and I probably never will again”

1) It’s a subscription service, a lot of people still like “owning” their games.

lol, there’s always one fanboy embarrassing themselves

Sadly, I’m sure this is related to Game Pass’s existence; no reason to give away games when they can charge you monthly for ‘em.

Yup! Glad you liked it! I totally agree on the story thing; I like the gameplay in both, but the story aspect was what really hooked me.

I’ll admit I haven’t finished it yet, but that’s mainly because it was a huge downer to hear that they wouldn’t be doing more Andromeda; I’ve played through most of the game, and as a HUGE Mass Effect fanboy (can you tell by my avatar?), it’s totally worth playing. Is it my least fave of the games? Sure, but there’s

Quantum Break, the Xbox exclusive from Remedy (the team behind Control). It does a lot of what made Control so critically-acclaimed (weird/cool story and powers, very cinematic style), but is probably harder to get into because it’s linear, and more importantly has 30 min live episodes between chapters. There are

This is basically a more fantastical version of their Assassin’s Creed series (it’s basically AC meets BotW), and yeah, they’ve done plenty of that in AC so far. It’s not so much about blending as it is creating standalone game worlds; the overarching “modern” narrative is the only part that connects them really.

I’d be surprised (I think it has sold relatively well so far). My thought was more that there wasn’t a whole lot more they felt they could do with the game’s initial premise since it’s so self-contained. As another commenter pointed out, this could be the other side of their Assassin’s Creed coin, where a new

I’m a huge fan of Greek mythology, so a pivot to Chinese myth isn’t exactly what I hoped for, but I have to say, this is pretty awesome. Not only are they taking a risk with a pivot like this, but they’re doing it to explore a mythology I personally don’t get to see that much in videogames, so I’m excited to dive in.

Yeah, I think MS sees exclusives as a Trojan Horse, their real prize being to get everyone on Game Pass (since, as with a ton of industries, they appear to be embracing the “____ as a service” idea). They’re aiming for gamers for whom “must-have” games don’t come around that often, but for whom a smaller monthly sub

Came here to say this. There are some genuinely “next-gen” features on the PS5 and XSeX and there are exclusive games. The Switch Pro will most likely be akin to the PS4 Pro from last gen, and will most likely not have many (or any) exclusives at all.

Yup, same. The combo of all the QoL updates to Destiny and the new season have had me burning through season pass levels at a rate I haven’t been doing since the first couple seasons.

I don’t mind 30 fps for certain types of games, but yeah, I’d like to see a lot more 60 fps stuff for sure.

Totally fair, although half the Souls games weren’t exclusives, and I’d be surprised if FF7R didn’t become multiplat at some point. But really, it comes down to this:

I want to play the absolute best games”
