You’re probably old like me. I honestly cannot think of one person - including myself - in my peer group as young drivers in the 80's that had a car with an automatic transmission. I haven’t owned one WITH a manual transmission for a daily driver since 2000, because I was tired of commuting with a stick shift car in

Safe and reliable car, easy to maintain and insure, etc.. What’s the problem, exactly?

I’m just sad that this guitar - a ‘59 Martin D-18E - is being fought over rather than being used to play music for people.

I wondered today if I was the only one that immediately thought of The Clash.

Yea. That sentence structure is... problematic.

Yea, I can’t imagine getting to the airport more than what I think it will take to clear security and make it to the gate a half hour before boarding - just to be safe.

It’s not hubris, it’s hyperbole. Different thing.

No flipping way. CP.

Isn’t that an Eddie Money song?

Same. I really don’t print much, but my Brother has been solid for years. More than anything, I scan stuff with mine.

Yea, it’s true. I remember we were at a conference with a group from work and some of these people act like they’ve never been away from home. This one guy was like “I’m smoking like a fiend and ashing on the floor of the casino and drinking myself blind every night.” Classy, dude. We had a tour scheduled at the

Agree with Dark Half and Dead Zone. I’ve read both of those more than once. The latter is truly brilliant, IMO. I also think that Joyland needs more love, too. Even though it was in fact nominated for an Edgar.

This is brilliant. It’s amazing how quick people can turn entitled and insufferable.

Yea, I’ve been seeing a lot of them in the last few weeks in Southern California- not very impressed.

I have a reply for this but I’ll keep it to myself. :)

I have to for work pretty often - at least once a month. And I also regularly fly to the east coast or Hawaii or Europe for vacation. Kinda hard to get out of it for those situations.

When flying Southwest (which is a minimum of once a month) a window seat behind the starboard wing is my default choice if the exit row is taken. I walk straight back and toss my carry on overhead while people struggle to be as close to the front as possible.

FWIW, my wife didn’t take my last name, neither of us saw a reason for her to do it. It also seemed like a major pain in the butt to do.. No one cares. We still get mail addressed to Mr and Mrs V all the time, but whatever. I don’t see the point of anyone changing their name. It’s a dumb tradition that should have

You’re right.

I used to have the mustache - we all did in the 80's. :)
