It’s not just the speed change, when the snow melts the roads get soft with water and absolutely destroyed by the cars going through. Finland typically doesn’t run gravel events in the spring for this reason, the roads are too soft when the snow melts

Safari literally comes from the WRC Safari Rally back in the day, where they would beef up the small cars to handle the insane road (some cars even went to the level of welding in 2 sets of floor skin!)

I feel I should point out that Williams Advanced Engineering is completely separate from the F1 side other than sharing a lunch room

A fine commuter car, surprisingly durable

I would guess the change was made much earlier in development last time

Any engine or suspension change requires retuning and revalidating the whole ABS/TCS/ESC system, definitely not a small cost

Or, buy something you could actually compete with

Tell him to go to isuckatracing.com and get on the lemons iraces. I did the LeMans 24, Spa 24, and Petit Lemans with racers I made friends with on there

They’re a private team that gets some money from Ford but nothing like the rest of the manufacturers

I’m still using my 10 year old G27, but last year I upgraded to the fanatec clubsport v3 load cell pedals. What a massive difference!

ESC systems are specifically tuned to the factory tires

it’s fantastic. I have wrc+ but they do put up some free content on the wrc website

One point, you always seemed to start your drift aiming towards the part of the track with the least runoff. That’s a pretty poor circuit design, most test tracks have a lot more runoff especially for low friction surfaces

a side impact test was technically performed, lol. shady ass marketing

Takata signed an agreement with NHTSA way back that eventually they would remove all ammonium nitrate from the road. It was always going to be in waves

only above a certain decel threshold, usually 0.3, plus whenever the ESC module is holding the car like on a grade

by law yes they have to illuminate

the problem is the large group dinner not the method of travel

the “proper” fix would be to either move your d-ring down or your butt up. Not sure if the e36 had adjustable d rings but a lot of cars do

I’m still using a 10 year old G27 wheel, but I upgraded to the clubsport v3 pedals this summer and that made a massive difference. Load cell pedals are a game changer!
