Why is the term “colored people” considered to be totally racist and offensive, and yet the term “people of color” is considered to be “progressive”, dignified, noble, and almost mystical?

It’s the same fucking term with the words switched around and “of” thrown in between them.

I keep thinking that if the first season of House of Cards featured actual events that have occurred in 2018, no one would have watched season 2. Well, it has been 252 years since he said that. Things have changed a bit. I appreciate his want for people not to suckle at the gov’t teat, but the reality is that we are all better off when there is some safety nets for those who fall on hard times. Removing it and/or making it difficult to use is simply cruel.
