My gut reaction was some variation of “AAAAHH... WHYYYYY?”

But you know what? I think I’m okay with this. It was a little annoying scrolling so much. Seeing a bunch of stories all at once and picking what to read... I’m good with that.

There were a few really small hints toward it, but they were pretty much “blink and you’ll miss them”. For a series that’s so good at foreshadowing in clever ways, a more obvious reference early on would have been nice.

They did reference the lion-turtle in The Library, and mentioned a lion-turtle at least one other

I’m reminded of a quote I read from Eiji Aonuma:

It’s worth mentioning that humor usually comes from the unexpected. The same joke over and over again just stops being funny. But most video games are built with the assumption that you will do the same things over and over again. That makes humor difficult.

Most humor also requires a sense of pacing and timing. In

THANK YOU.

Your link to Chesses takes me to Really Bad Chess.

Sure, speedruns are great and all, but THIS stuff is next-level impressive.

It’s not just about fixing the bug. It’s about fixing a bug in a way that doesn’t add more bugs. One line of code that fixes a certain bug might create whole unintended side effects.

For what it’s worth, in the original story Billy Blaze did have a little sister. So it works, in that sense.

Still... why are they calling this Commander Keen? Why use an IP that has no connection to the original besides a vague character design resemblance?

And so I ask: Why did Nintendo make this?

There are a lot of horrible things in the Trump administration.

Spelling errors on personal speech notes are not one of them.

Sure, they continue a narrative of Trump being an idiot or whatever, but all that does is make us feel smug. Frankly, that’s the last thing the Internet needs right now.

This first time I remember a character design being negatively received in a movie was for the Eric Bana live-action Hulk. If I remember correctly, the design was changed in small ways, but ultimately, very little about it changed.

I’m pretty sure that’s also what’s going to happen here. There will be certain things

Absolutely! Some characters are better for 1v1, but other characters have some really powerful crowd control techniques. Duck Hunt Dog and Bowser Jr. are among my favorites for this.

Just to add to the pile of complaints, because I haven’t seen anyone mention it... where are his socks? It’s not just the shoes that feel off, he’s not wearing any socks!

You know that sweaty feeling you get when you wear running shoes barefoot? That’s this Sonic at all times.

Admittedly, that is an improvement.

Now they just have to go make the rest of him look like Sonic the Hedgehog.

Poochy. It’s a reference to a Simpsons episode in which executives try to add an “extreme” character to the Itchy and Scratchy show.

with parts of the Midwest experiencing wind chills of 40, 50, even 60 degrees below zero—and that’s in Fahrenheit.

It’s not so bad if you get the FastPass, though.

No, what he means is that, until Smash 64, no one was waiting for Smash. Characters could only start waiting for Smash once they knew it existed (so, 1999).

I see S1D’s point, but I still think it was better the way they did it.
