Hot take: the only topic that can reliably generate as much commentary as a winter tires vs. AWD article is an article about a Mustang driver losing control leaving a C&C meet.

I’ve never really thought it through, but if the type of engine stays the same, why would moving it to the back (middle) make it that much more expensive? I could see it being a bit harder to assemble, but can’t quite figure out why it would be an increase of almost 66%.  What am I missing?

Yes, exactly. The flares are embarassingly bad. On top of that, while I love the color combo (and almost got an orient blue 2004 E46 wagon about ten years ago), I can tell you that the tan leather in these guys just doesn’t age well at all. It’s soft enough that it wrinkles and gets grimy, and yet can’t withstand the

Reminds me a bit of a Touareg (just not as good looking). I guess that is a given with the shared MLB platform, but it’s not what I’d want people thinking if I was dropping $160k or more on one.

Something tells me that this guy also is the type to park across two spots whenever he won’t get a ticket for doing so.

Disclaimer: I am with the other grumpy people here who think this is a lousy — and potentially dangerous — way to circumvent a law that people are expected to follow so that spots don’t all get tied up in a downtown area.

Do you think the driver at the 3:22 mark splashed the photographer on purpose?

Wow!  Just . . . . . . wow!

You got a star because, for some reason I can’t explain, I always laugh out loud at any comment with “hard pass” in it.

Predictable styling that’s nevertheless a bit more bland than that of its competitors, paired with front-wheel drive performance that’s not quite as good as the (modern-day, somewhat watered-down) 3 series, and no manual? Yup, I think you nailed it on the headline — it seems just about as good as it looks,

I’m not the only idiot out here working on his car by himself at home in his garage.

Reminds me of the XJ220.

Making good use of Apple CarPlay, I was able to get around town via the long-awaited addition of Google Maps interface, which is far more user-friendly and just downright better than Porsche’s PCM navigation.

I came here to say something similar, but that was much better!  LOL.

I can’t agree there. I certainly don’t put people in the back every day, but I pick my parents up from the airport in mine (and my 5'10" mom sits comfortably in the back behind me (6'5")) pretty regularly. I’ve also had all four seats filled by adults/teens on enough other occasions that I definitely find it’s a

But I feel like they should be able to have good back seats if packaged right. The Mustang is bigger than my e92, which has great backseat room.

This was what I was thinking of. I can’t vouch for whether it’s true:

That’s not really what I was meaning. My understanding is that the belt lines are all higher these days in order to aid in passing crash testing (because of all of those higher bumpers out there on cross-overs and SUVs), which, when applied to an already large muscle car, starts making these cars a bit too tall

I agree that the new Mustang is great, but as I pass it, I always end up wishing it was just a little shorter. For me, that length (visually) takes away from its sporting nature just a bit.

Just what I said. I also agree that during this phase where they’re clearly avoiding coming up with a new look, just let retro be retro. Then (and it can’t come too soon), actually make a full new look for people to like. I enjoy this car in many ways, but really want it to stop reminding me of that Viagra commercial
