In their defense, given BMW’s current design direction, I think they may just be figuring that the brand will be dead by the time these kids reach driving age, so this is the best they’ve got.

If this virtual launch is a way to keep their hideous new cars off of real streets, I very much approve.

They forgot to list “Porcine Snout” on the list of standard features.

Just confirming - this will be called the Great6, correct?

Funny - I actually like the Atlantic blue better, though I’d never opt for either of them. Both colors just look off to me on a car this mean.

I can’t tell from the pictures how close to car or SUV this thing is, and it makes me mad.

Pity that the majority of these will either live life getting frequently cleaned and infrequently driven at low speed, get destroyed by someone who doesn’t have the skill to drive them properly, or both.

Holy shit, I have been scrolling for about 10 minutes, just getting more and more concerned that I had seen virtually no comments saying this. Thank you for convincing me that there is at least some lasting shred of hope for mankind. I agree, that is positively the ugliest thing I’ve seen in years. It’s Aztek bad.

David, David, David. That headline was wrong too. Again, it’s just not fascinating to the vast majority of us out there with deep, deep knowledge of large ship maintenance. You’re really showing your naivete on the subject, which risks losing you this huge chunk of your usual audience.

Well, it definitely blew my mind, even with my average level (i.e., complete and total lack) of knowledge regarding large ship maintenance.

Raphael, your issues are actually pretty simple. It looks to me like all of your problems would be solved by two things. First, your bottom chain ring of 28T is perhaps a bit too small if you’re going to have a cassette that goes from 12-32. The 50-32 combo dictates a certain chain length (which I think is actually

I’d even go a bit further. I don’t know why the pitfalls of L2 systems are even being discussed here at all. As people are pointing out, this guy was clearly controlling the car for a large portion of the 40 seconds prior to impact, since autopilot, lane assist, and traffic-aware cruise control would cut out above 90

All this proves is that Chevy stopped well short of the C8's design potential, which we already knew. Otherwise, it’s a (proposed) small-batch supercar in a world already full of them. Honestly, who cares?

So ... you’re saying it’s still okay to just think the McLaren F1 is the most amazing car ever made and leave it at that? I can do that.

Agreed.  Definite improvement, but a big missed opportunity.  I’d also love to see a return to round headlights.

I’m figuring it was just an arm-wrestling match with Amy McGrath, and he’s a little embarrassed about the outcome.

Or perhaps that, under yet another arbitrarily changed definition for what constitutes a planet, we are officially back up to nine in our solar system. Nothing about the moon changed, but it’s now totally different.

I mean, given the current state of affairs, I’m assuming this is just a weird leadup to the “discovery” of another Hunter Biden laptop, perhaps this time with some emails revealing that Joe Biden paid China to release the coronavirus.

Was disappointed this article didn’t mention anything about its city mileage.

Thank you! I really didn’t expect to have to get this far down in the comments to finally find this sentiment being expressed. I don’t get why this is the first Ferrari we’re calling a “prettier Dodge Viper” based solely on it being a fast front-engined two seater given that this is just a reworked 812 (which is just
