I also lived through the ‘80s, and while I thought some of the sports/sporting cars from Japan in that era were kinda neat, if I were to buy anything sporty from the ‘80s it would probably be a Mustang GT.

Interesting you mention the 300ZX, because I owned a Z31 for a couple years.  Mine was a 2+2 with an automatic, and I’d bet you lunch that it was not quicker than this 5-speed Supra (besides having an automatic, it’s heavier).  I’m not against the idea of buying another Z31 if I’m feeling nostalgic about the ‘80s, but
