Dream Theater of the Absurd

I’ve heard too much about the early ML’s to vote anything other than ND on this one.  And I own a W210 (which has been a pretty good car over the seven years I’ve had it).

Though fair play on used ones being expensive (though not especially rare).

FIAT = Failed Italian Attempt at Transportation

Okay.... mileage is a bit high, but not terrible for a 28-year-old car, and a well-maintained Miata can easily run another 100K over what this one has. There are a few cosmetic issues, but they’re typical for a daily driver and probably not too dear to address. Plus hardtop.

I’m not that worried about the mileage on this car. I had a ‘91 that made it to 327K on its original engine. This one seems to have been maintained well, so it should also be able to make it that far.

I, on the other hand, change the O2 sensor in my Miata every other year prior to its emissions test.  It’s only $30 (my car is a ‘90; it’s a single-wire sensor) and takes about ten minutes.  Cheap insurance IMO.

Don’t people know what that light bulb shaped warning light on their dash means?

I change the engine air filter in the Benz every time I change the oil. But I’ve yet to change the cabin filter even once.

So, David, for how many years have you been 29? ;)

50 doesn’t seem so old when you’re 53 (which I am).

I don’t really have a lot of stories about selling cars, because I haven’t sold that many and most of them went pretty smoothly. But selling my ‘91 Miata on Craigslist was.... interesting.

Happy birthday, Jason!  Never change.

This may be cheating, but I’m going to just go with two cars for myself plus one for the missus (who doesn’t care about cars as long as they get her where she needs to go).  My ideal two-car garage would be a Corvette and a pickup truck.  Either would work for daily duty, the Vette can pull weekend duty and track

Not my cup of Earl Grey, but $21k seems like a fair price for this car.

I can definitely get behind Jose’s recommendation.  While neither of mine were/are that new, I’ve had two Miatas.  Only downside is you’ll have to pack light for that road trip.

Rare =/= valuable.

There are cars from the 1980s that can command this kind of price.  This is not one of them.  ND.

Customer: *hands me a $20 bill for an order totaling $19.93* Keep the change.

True, even outside the restaurant biz.
