An M5 is basically a hole in the driveway that you fill with money.

I’ve heard way too much about this car’s unreliability to ever seriously contemplate buying one.  And even the asking price would Break My Wallet.

Maybe “damage” isn’t the right word in this case.  Most of what had to be replaced on this car is stuff that just naturally wears out.  Yes, they had to replace a wheel bearing, but everyone who drives a car knows that wheel bearings eventually wear out even if you’re not flogging your car around a race track.

True, but this car is an oddball.  And Torch loves oddball cars.

‘Busa swap!

I’ll go with “what”.

To be fair, a car like this is right up Torch’s alley - at least a non-rusty example would be.

Translation:  PLEASE buy it before I do!

Remind me again.... which one is Pumpkin Spice?

Still the winningest engine in Indy 500 history - and they haven’t even been used in the 500 since the 1970's.

And if I’m not mistaken, they only turn a few hundred revolutions over the course of a run.

And the engines in those are MUCH larger.  They probably don’t run for as long, though.

Get a C5 Z06.  Plenty of them out there within this budget, and probably some room for upgrades and a couple sets of tires after the purchase.

“Crash course” is an apt description. Over the course of that one weekend, I put in almost six hours in the car, and when I wasn’t in the car I was either walking to a debriefing session or coming back from one.

For years I’ve been saying Cup should run Road America. And now it’s gonna happen! Plus they’re also adding the dirt race at Bristol, the IMS road course, and COTA.

A good idea, poorly (and incompletely) executed.  No thank you.

I definitely remember the Wendy’s Superbar.  I worked at their Pomona store during my college years.  Don’t think I ever ate anything we served there.

True, but when I did SCCA school my neck and shoulders were pretty sore. And I remember having a bruise on my right leg from where it was up against a frame tube running through the cockpit of the Formula Vee I drove in the school.

Back when I used to autocross, SCCA San Francisco Region ran events at Candlestick Park before it was redeveloped. One section of the lot we used had some pretty nasty bumps in it, the worst of which was over a drain pipe where the ground had settled around it. And it seemed like almost every course they ever put in
