I know I watched both of those races.  As did my wife - and on that day she became a Tony Stewart fan.

I want this thing for some strange reason.

As I mentioned in another comment here, in my early 20's I hit a child while turning on to a residential street. I was on the brakes HARD, stalled the engine even, but I can still remember her rolling up onto the hood of my car, falling back to the pavement... and going on her merry way. She probably had a couple

I haven’t done much track driving, but I went through an SCCA licensing school at Thunderhill in early 2011. The first behind-the-wheel session was a lead-follow exercise in which the instructor would lead us around the course to demonstrate the line, then wave the student around.

I’d say no. I had a similar experience with hitting a pedestrian when I was in my early 20's - in my case, it wasn’t the town drunk but a small child who ran out in front of me right as I was turning onto a residential street. Thankfully she wasn’t injured apart from maybe a couple scrapes.

After my first indoor karting experience, I remember my ribs being sore for a couple days after.  This was after a single 12-minute session.

Whether they’re in a crosswalk or not, you’re screwed if you hit one of them with your vehicle.

I stand 5'8", and the hood of a new Silverado is very close to my eye level.

Reading this article made me crave cheese puffs. So at lunch I got a bag.

When an acquaintance of mine poo-pooed the athletic prowess of race car drivers, I told him he should put on his warmest winter gear and drive his car for three hours during the summer. With the heater running.

I was actually with her on the “no Honda” idea. My wife doesn’t drive stick, so we had to find a car with an automatic. In the price range where we were looking, most of the Hondas we found fell into that range of model years with weak automatic transmissions.

This is an Expedition Sport Trac.

In my experience, if you’re cooking eggs in a skillet - whether fried or scrambled - there is no such thing as too much fat (be it butter or bacon grease or whatever). And for fried eggs, I like to start off with a lot of fat in the pan because I can spoon it over the top of the eggs.

Backing up a trailer is tricky, especially a short single-axle trailer. It’s something that just takes practice.  I’ve gotten it down with my teardrop trailer, and unlike this motorcycle trailer my teardrop isn’t easy to see around.

That loading ramp may stand vertical while towing, but from what I can see in the pictures most of it is expanded metal. Thus it doesn’t really have a lot of frontal area.

I don’t recall if this was done to H-bodies, but I remember hearing of some GM product where it was common for the owner to drill a hole through the firewall to get at the last spark plug.

That looks delicious.  All it needs is a drizzle of good olive oil and a big glass of red wine.

Every now and then I entertain the idea of buying a GTI - until I remember that I already own one out-of-warranty German car and would have to be crazy to own a second.

If I were going to buy a Grom, I’d definitely go with a new one for this reason.  And aside from getting a bike that nobody has ridden before you, it comes with a warranty (which, given it’s a Honda, you might not actually need).
