Jonah Keri wins. I might for his induction.

I think you contradicted yourself and backed up my own opinion with the last sentence of your post. Friends? No. Respect? Why not? There's a pretty big gap between country club chumminess and being an asshole. Somewhere in that gap is "sportsmanship."

"AUBURN'S GONNA WIN THE FOOTBALL GAME!"

Ha! I've got to admit that was funny. Hey, I like watching crazy shit happen in sports as much as the next guy. I just think it's a shame when people are this douchebaggish, which absolutely should be a word.

"I'm so happy right now." [me and most other sane people]

Yet another example of modern sports douchebaggery. I've got no snark here. It's just Exhibit Z to the 10th power of why it's getting harder and harder to take spectator sports seriously any more. Yes, I know there have always been jerks in sports since way before Ty Cobb, but now jerkdom seems almost celebrated.

+1, s. s. echo

Same scene from another angle:

"Does he know what happens when he gets on the big metal bird to go to away games?"

I can't express how much pleasure this Saints fan takes from watching that fan's tsk-tsk seizure, knowing how the game ended.

Yeah, the point remains the same. I'm a from-birth Cardinals fan and you won't find anyone who respects and admires Pujols more than me. But when it came time to do the math, it was clear that we needed that Pujols money to invest in the future of the franchise. Even if you don't count the fact that we got Wacha

Two words: Albert Pujols.

"Unfortunately for Darwinism, his fall was broken by an unlucky spectator below."

Just give me Gov't Mule and a 40 oz. and I'll call you in the morning.

Give me MMW or give me death/Bieber.

Actually, they play many, many college teams and almost always win. that was their first loss in years. They're not NBA-level, but they're still pretty damn good.

Or Dickey Betts.

I don't even like the Patriots (although admittedly I hate the Panthers more), but you're hallucinating if you think Gronk had no chance of catching that ball if you remove the impeding action on the part of the defender. He was interfered with, plain and simple... and even if I grant you momentarily your argument,

You can't make this shit up.
