I had a girlfriend in the 80's that got one of these cars afore going to to college. Most remarkable thing I remember is the hood emblem was also the safety catch when you popped the hood. Pop the hood, and push down on the emblem to open - no fishing around for a hidden latch.

How dare you bring forth your actual experience to thwart the manual transmission masturbation fantasy.

Well, this probably cost a whole lot.

I think it was orange and purple, Dude.

Hey, I too am pissed I can’t drive one legally on the roads here, but no need to get so salty about it. XD

...and $2k was probably meant to replace the topper.

I think Mark just chimed in.

I remember old cars fondly. My first two cars were both 1966 Fairlanes.

This is Jalopnik.

Tires are changed at the same rate as stuffed toys for Jack Russell terriers.

In-laws had a v6 with the 5 speed in an aerostar. Was actually a pretty competent driver.

Get it because I want a mid engined car?  Hell no, I'm getting one because old man / small penis jokes.

LOL. And Republicans like to call Democrats “Triggered”.

And thanks for proving that there will always be a painfully ignorant douchebag sharing irrelevant opinions on the internet.

If I never see someone refer to a vehicle's internal combustion engine as a "Mill" again, it will be too soon.

Yeah, but some people don’t want to drive a Honda Fit.

CARB is filled with self- righteous, power tripping idiots, many of which cannot figure out how to apply rules and standards consistently across the field of manufacturers.

We’ll have to agree to disagree. Well, because you’re just plain wrong.

I have. Add in Mitsubishi and Bosch as well. Thanks have changed greatly in the last 15 years - where I have worked as an engineer at GM.

As an old white guy, I thank you for looking past the stereotype.
