For me, it's the image of him sitting in robes on a mountain top trying to get more bars on his new iPhone 5 in order to use the new Facebook app.

@Phsmith, I'm sorry but I have to disagree with all of your points.

The Escape from New York movie poster (article header) which shows the SoL head on the street is rumored to be the inspiration for that shot in Cloverfield.

Wow, way to suck what little wry humor there is out of sarcasm.

Neo + Trinity?

Or Leonard and Penny!

I thought about BR too, but they just didn't pull off the love part in the end. It was too focused on Roy.

I liked Kirok (Kirk) and Miramanee from the Paradise Syndrome better.

Douglas Fargo and Holly Martin...short lived, but anytime one of the two is an avatar it gets my vote.

How about G'Kar and Mollari? Just kidding. But I thought it would have been great to see Bestor hook up with someone domineering, like Ivanova....where she tells him what to do, instead of him always trying to boss others around. It would have played well, I think.

Data and Tasha Yar :)

True, what was the ultimate goal of the story? Where were they going to go with it? We just watch for 5-6-7 seasons while they build a new civilization? Hoping to not go extinct when the asteroid hits?

Does anyone remember SU2 (Special Unit 2)?

Agreed. ST-TNG would never get off the ground nowadays. I see shows cancelled after 3-4 episodes now. I think that's a bad move by the networks...as it takes a while for actors to feel out their characters. Seinfeld pilot was also absolutely terrible. Too many shows go belly up before they are given a chance.

I think DS9 started off slow, but with potential. Then it meandered a bit. But I thought the last season was some of the best Trek written. (Really, who doesn't want to be Quark getting a little o0-mox from a dabo girl?)

I may be one of the few people that really liked SGU. (Of course, I also loved Babylon 5.) I liked SG1 and SG Atlantis as well, but I thought SGU was more character focused...because it had to be.

Agreed. And it should not have been family centered. Boring!!!

I would liked to have seen more back and forth along the portal with some overarching story about what's going on in the future. The post-apocalyptic future setting was ripe with potential, but they ignored it completely.

The problem is getting hooked too fast and then realizing the studio put all their money and creativity into the pilot with little left for the season. "Lost" had an awesome pilot, and I only continued to watch the first season because of the pilot. But nothing ever materialized. Literally nothing...for 6 seasons.

You could tell that they put a lot of money and attention into the pilot. But once they went through the portal, and no one could go back...what's the point. Dinosaurs are cool once in a while, but you can't do character development with one. And a few ruffians or rogue settlers? Not enough. It took them too long
