^^^THIS. Holy shit, the immaturity with which he dealt with Mike and El was staggering. I was starting to feel like the only person who thought he was way out of line for that. Everyone also seems to forget that screaming fight he and El got into last season. That man is not equipped to be a father.

Exactly. Going from “flawed hero with emotional issues” to “loudmouthed shouty asshole” was pretty jarring.

This makes me glad I bailed after an episode and a half. I was so put off by the scene where he freaked out at Mike I knew my (once) favorite character was going to be unrecognizable for the rest of the season.

Absolutely true. I’m 38 and will likely never reach major life milestones (buying a house, having kids, etc.) because of my loan debt. Getting rid of that burden would change the course of my life, no exaggeration.

The scene between Crowley and discorporated Aziraphale in the bar, while slightly awkward, was just the sweetest thing. I’d say yes, keep going. I haven’t read the book and only knew the basic premise going into it, and about 3/4 into the first episode I was all “um.....okay?”. But it gets better and more engaging, IMO. Everything ties together really nicely at the end.

I tend to agree - his curmudgeonliness (is that a word?) stopped being cute a while ago and now he comes off as just a grouchy old man. The whole “nope, I AM this character and no one else should play him” comes off as really selfish.
