Having driven a Camry for my work vehicle, I am concerned with your statement. The Camry is an awful vehicle from a handling perspective. It leaves you very disconnected from the road and feel of driving. That may make you “feel” safe, but the reality is that it’s likely less safe than you think at that speed. Your

Problem is, enforcing those requires effort, versus sitting on the side of the road and waiting for the radar gun to buzz to tell the cop to pull someone over. Plus, due to the over-demonization of “speeding” the fines are higher there than the other violations... so not only do they take more effort, but they provide

Honestly curious - did you make eye contact with the driver? Did they see/look-at you? If they didn’t see you or make eye contact, then I agree you can’t tell if the car has/hasn’t yielded... reality is that most likely they have not.

I never said you didn’t have to yield. I said you didn’t have to STOP. According to the law, there is a difference. As the article says “Pedestrians are forbidden from walking or running into the path of a vehicle which is so close to them that it does not have the opportunity to yield.” That’s why the law says cars

Exactly. My LG V30 is still a high performer, has a headphone jack, dual camera, rootable, IP67, and a 3400mAh battery that lasts about 2 days. I don’t think I’ve seen it go below 40% and I use it daily (I also charge daily). And it cost me $200 last year.

I agree that part of the problem is that we are having peds cross at the same time as turning traffic. This really baffles me, particularly in big cities like NYC. Many other cities (in other countries, for example) don’t put peds and cars crossing at the same time, period... look at the “busiest intersection” in

No, in many states there is no OBLIGATION to STOP. In many states (like CT) drivers are required to YIELD the right of way, not STOP. https://www.theday.com/article/20151128/BIZ09/151129390

Well my LG OLED is about 2 years old and has no burnin, so suck it Samsung. Stop trying to confuse people with the “Q” that looks like an “O”.

I hate the idea of giving money to Comcrap... so I’m on TotalWireless (Verizon MVNO) and couldn’t be happier. Two lines, unlimited (50GB to the throttle limit), $57. I also can bring any device I want to the system, they don’t seem to care (compared to VZ which won’t activate anything without a VZ IMEI... even though

Agreed, I do something similar - I scoop out a spoonful or so and put them in various corners of a freezer bag (ie, bottom corners, and one in the middle). I normally only have 1 or 2 tablespoons left anyway, so this is easy to do as well...

The fact is, there IS a standard on how they should be set - the MUTCD https://mutcd.fhwa.dot.gov/knowledge/faqs/faq_part4.htm#tcsfq20

Better yet is what my company RAV4 does. It will start braking... fine, great. Then, if it’s still getting too close, the crash warning activates and the cruise control is disabled, which means it stops braking and happily coasts you right into the crash it was warning you about. This is what Toyota calls a “safety

All this does is make me miss my 06 LGT manual even more. So close, yet so far... sigh.

Haha, “safety tech”. My company car was a 2017 Camry (now it’s a “slightly better” 2018 RAV4. So, for “safety features” let’s talk about this crap. Start with the lane assistance. If a truck starts drifting into your lane, and you try to give it room by sliding over, the car will try to pull you BACK INTO THE TRUCK.

Vehemently disagree. The Toyota Crummy (at least in the base-level version I have as a company car) is one of the worst cars I have ever driven. The only thing worse was the Hybrid version which had less road/driving feel than my PS3 video game. Absolutely awful.

Does anyone make a smart TOGGLE style light switch? I have no desire to replace just one switch in a bank with the wide-style, and have it look out of place. Does no one else see this issue?

Plus the McLaren can turn... without killing a bunch of pedestrians.

Because many of them use Crapple phones and don’t realize when the backup stops working (iCloud is terrible about this, as I have seen from many of my iPhone-using friends). If they can’t figure it out, then it’s not working well enough.

And where did those celebrity nude picture leaks come from? Hint: iCloud.
